FS: 40gb PS3 "Fat" version - Console and Leads ONLY £140.00

Hey everybody! I have a PS3 40gb FAT version for sale.

I am wanting to buy a Slim PS3 with a larger hard drive so selling this one will fund that.

It's quite an old console, 4 years I believe, however it's in great condition and I have never had a single problem with it! I treat all of my electronics items with great care, even putting a dust cover onto it when I go away for a holiday or trip, so it's in very good nick and works perfectly.

Cosmetically it has nothing major to mention, however it does have many little scratches which are unavoidable due to the black chrome case these things have. (I am learning this even more now with my new Samsung TV, everything scratches it!) Though from a distance you cannot see the scratches, and you can't even really see them up close unless you have a light shining onto it. So it looks really good still, considering.

The power lead it comes with is Grey as I somehow misplaced the official black one when moving house, but it works perfectly. Also I will through in a HDMI cable with it, even though this doesn't come with the console usually.

It is not boxed, and does not have a controller (I am keeping the controller for my new console).

Any questions, feel free to ask.

The price of £140 does include postage and packaging.

Thanks, Bonk aka Luke

I'll start the ball rolling at an offer of £70 delivered. Providing you send first due to feedback.

Not being funny but I think such "low ball" bids are against the site's rules?
#7
I don't consider it a low ball offer.

With the age of the console, lack of box, small scratchs, lack of official black lead and lack of controller.

Please just decline the offer if you're not content with the price, or perhaps consider a counter offer.

It's not deemed low enough to be considered as a thread spoil.

- Some of the speckles of white etc are from the camera. Also in a darker room (when the PS3 isn't under the light of a camera flash) you can barely see most of the visible scratches on there.

Firmware (System Software?) is Version 3.55

Oh and I will reject the offer of £90 thank you. Apologies but even on a certain auction site FAULTY 40gb consoles sell for 70 quid :/

I hope the low ball offers are not due to my description of the console. I've been honest about everything and in every way so to not disappoint a potential buyer. Other sellers may not have even mentioned the various scratches and it's age etc, but I've been honest, so you know what you're getting.

I'm not going to rush-sell this. I know it can and it will sell for £120+

Gonna throw this out there though

If anyone offers me £126 (including delivery) they can have it in their hands by Saturday.

Bonk,
Watch the bumping. A maximum of three bumps are allowed:-
A maximum of 3 bumps per thread.
Do not bump your threads excessively. It’s not fair on other users. Three bumps per thread are allowed in order to promote your listing. For this reasons, no vague threads are permitted and the item offered/wanted must be specific. Any unnecessary comments or consecutive postings within your thread will be classed as a bump or thread spoil.

Threads allow up to 5 photos per post, if you are listing several items in one thread, please reserve a post at time of the thread creation (by making a comment within your thread and later editing your pictures into that comment) otherwise subsequent photo/request for photos may be deemed as a bump.

All photos must be of the actual item for sale (not a stock photo) and include a note containing your member name and dated alongside. It is your responsibility to take a picture of the item you’re selling before listing on Hotukdeals and to add them to your thread as soon as possible to avoid unnecessary bumps.

Bonk,

Congratulations on the sale, sorry you weren't successful here, however try not to let it put you off. It's a good place to buy at a decent price, so it can work to your advantage.

Who was the lucky buyer, and whereabouts did they purchase the item ?

It wasn't about being successful, I'd have happily traded here again even if it hadn't of sold, but some people (as Havince highlights above) are down right rude and I can't be bothered to battle with people in an attempt to sell an item!

Havince considering you have no feedback at all... What are you, just a complete troll? Why are you looking in the FS/FT forum without any intention of trading at all?
#22
^ In 3 years and 3 months I will add.

I wouldnt call realistic pricing advice rude. £140 for a 4 year old console was well OTT.
#24
the console cant be 4 years old. the 40gb was released sometime in October/November 2007, which means its just over 3 years old and thats if the op bought it within a couple months of release...

* Thread spoiling comments removed as they are proxy bumping the thread unfairly (no more posts please Havince in this thread) - thread was left unlocked for OP to clarify where the item was sold.

Well the item is not sold, it's on an auction site as I felt that offers of 70 and 90 were thread spoiling low ball offers and got fed up with some of the approaches of the people on here.

I just wanted to declare that it is no longer available for purchase.
