hi guys, sorry for the delayed reply. works been crazy and i didnt get any emails notifying me of responses.

ok, yep the car is a non runner. truth being is i got it through a friend, and was going to try to get into cars, and selling them etc, but pretty much at the same time was given an opportunity in london which i took. so moved down there and left it back in northampton. so im now looking to get rid of it (ive just been lazy)

the reason i dont think its anything major is because when i first got it, it would almost almost start, to the point where i thought that it might just be lack of fuel. everything would seem like it was going to start, and it would fire up, but it just wouldnt do that last final bit to get the engine running constantly.

like i said, im not a mechanic, but because of the above, i didnt think it was anything major. and now im down in london, i just want to sell it as it is, because i dont really have time to deal with it. if you're more knowledgable then me( which im sure you are) please feel free to take a look

Something dont sound right and for a call to the AA or £30-£50 at your local mechanic will tell u for definite whats wrong and approx how much it will cost.

Has anyone had a look at it? Whats the MOT and service history situation with it?

try some easystart its only about £3 a can
spray it into the air inlet filter and try and start it whiles spraying
normally does the trick

Unless it has nothing to do with the air inlet filter.

TBH it looks like the OP knows it's a write off and hes just saying that he hasn't tested it to pass it on to some other poor bloke.

i have had to callout the rac a couple of times when my car wouldnt start if i dont use it for a while the deisel goes back to the diesel tank so theres none in the pipes, the only way to get it going again is to prime the system with a hand pump and using easy start it goes again, once its started i wont have the problem again for around 6 to 12 months, so what easy start can do it start pumping the fuel through you pipes as the pump will be pumping it through,
