FS:Acer Aspire 5315 Faulty

Was working fine , went to power up yesterday and it wont power up. Seems to charge ok as the light changes from orange to green when the charger is plugged in for a short while. It powers up for about 5-10 seconds green light comes on as normal but nothing on screen then switches off, the fan also spins up. Its not the charger as it has been tested on another laptop , its not the hard drive as that has also been tested. So im not sure what the problem is. not sure what its worth faulty but have sold a laptop faulty before for around the same price. It may be a quick fix for someone with the right knowledge.

requires taking the laptop to parts, getting the motherboard, removing the old one and involves soldering on the new one.

Passed on to my brother who said he would check it out.. he doesnt have a bloody clue! Therefore id like to sell it back on here again. Would i have to wait 7 days before listing?

exact same thing happened to my friends laptop a while back. go to the acer site, download the latest firmware onto a USB stick and follow the instructions. Its a BIOS fault rather than a hardware fault. You my friend, have yourself a bargain. Also, ignore the HDD DC PIN comment, clearly doesnt know what he is on about.

Id be interested if you do put it back up for sale.
Pm me when/if you do.
