For sale is a Acer Aspire 4315
The fault is the screen as you can see in the images, the rest of the laptop should be fine once you fit a new screen.
There are a few minor scratches, but the only big fault is the screen.

No insurance

I just tried my PC monitor, it just stayed black, but safe mode worked. Surely if you just get a new screen it will just go back to normal?? Im not good at these things.

And a local pick-up could be arranged
#8
pickup too far for me - offer stands though of £80 delivered. Think thats a fair offer.

Yeah but you said safe mode worked ok so I'm assuming thats a driver issue. When safe mode loaded if you could see the screen properly and could use the mouse and keyboard then my offer stands.

if screen stayed black when booting then there could be more wrong with it , as even with a broken screen it should still boot in to windows, if it was a driver problem then you would get blue screen of death

Try pressing the fn key and f7 together this flicks the display between internal and external screens

hmm no you MIGHT get that but not definitely. We don't know enough about the setup to jump to that conclusion. Sounds more to me like the laptop was set to a higher resolution than the monitor could handle which would cause EXACTLY this problem. I'll take a gamble if it meets my earlier criteria (and if the offer s accepted of course!)

Thats fine we have a deal! Would you mind if we do half upfront, half after just to be safe? I'll provide phone numbers and address's to prove my ID. I've also got long standing accounts on ebay and tekforum.co.uk that I'll link you to via pm that I don't want my rep being tarnished on so I'm not going to mess you around.

Will PM some personal details now.

Cheers,

Pete

what desktop monitor cant handle higher resolution then a laptop with with1280 x 800, anyway you would still get to see windows loading, plus it has Windows Vista Home Basic that would install the driver for the monitor.

For a start the 3 I've got on my desk in front of me won't go higher than 1024x768...

And Vista installing the driver wouldn't alter the resolution. It works in safe mode so the hardware is working - hence my conclusion. Hey if I'm wrong I'm wrong - thats what a gamble is.

Oh forgot to say I tend to either use parcels2go or parcelfarce at the post office (its easier!). Don't use Royal Mail standard as they'll lose it like always....

Monday mornings fine.

cheers
