FS: Acer Liquid, Android Froyo 2.2 Handset £100.00

Bought this on here a few months ago for £130 and it's done me well.

It's in great condition but as original seller advised me, there are a couple of very feint scratches on the right hand side of the screen, but these can only be seen when the screen is off and you hold it up to the light. As soon as the backlight is on or you look at it square on, they're no longer visible. Like I say, it's only so i'm being totally honest, they don't even show up in photographs.

It's unlocked to all networks and by default runs an Acer version of Android homescreen which has widgets/apps etc. on the lock screen as well as homescreen, like the new HTC Sense 3.0. It can be switched to default 'vanilla' Android though,

Was agreed to sell on here a few weeks ago then buyer backed out and tried to renegotiate price.
Shipping/Payment:
BT or cash on collection, will be sent by RMSD, included in price.

I have an Acer Liquid running official Froyo 2.2 ROM that I bought on here a couple of months ago. It's a great little phone and fully unlocked but I've bought another handset so it's no longer required.

Original thread was http://www.hotukdeals.com/for-sale-trade/acer-liquid-2-2/871292

I'd let it go for £100.

You've offered this for £100 before here so I believe you can't now ask £115 for it...as per forum rules, not mine!
Also, does this run the fully fledged HD GAMELOFT Games and does flash work in the web browser?

Tethering is standard with Froyo and I can confirm that it definitely is capable, i've used it myself. It was offered at a lower price previously on a separate thread several weeks ago, but didn't sell, i'm now including postage. To the best of my knowledge unless i'd offered it in this thread at a lower price, or at a price higher than RRP or my purchase price i'm fine to list it at this.

not sure about your referenec to price - can't remember if I have offered on this before - I did in the post that you bought it from :)

I would not be able to offer anywhere near you asking price because its not a big enough upgrade from my HTC Magic ( £50 from here) and not so much better than an £80 OSF - no I am going to have to leave it for now - sorry !

It was me that asked about price! I believe £15 addition cannot justify postage costs! Mods since this was offered at £100 before can it now be offered for £115?
Besides, to answer my question - does this run HD gameloft games and does it support flash in web browser?

It supports Flash in the Web Browser and currently has 10.2 installed. I've never tried to play any HD Gameloft Games so i really couldn't tell you.

I'm pretty sure that since i've never listed it at a lower price, I can choose my starting price. It was offered in someone else's post but didn't sell, i don't think i can be held to that.

Previous asking prices from another thread have no relevance here. The key point here is not to breach the profiteering rule. Had the OP indicated that they would accept £100 in this thread then later revised that upwards to £115 (and an offer had been made) then the OP would have to a) sell at the lower price or b) close the thread, wait 7 full days then relist at new asking price.

Thanks mod. Can you do me a favour, download Neocore from android market place and tell me the FPS? Also Quadrant Standard and give me the benchmark?
#18
Neocore is 28.0 FPS and Quadrant Standard shows 628, which i was pleasantly surprised with given that it's outperforming the Nexus One, HTC Desire and a few other much more expensive devices!

Thanks. Just for your reference, 28FPS is pretty poor so I doubt it'll be able to run gameloft games smoothly! My San Francisco gets 46FPS...and games are as laggy as anything! With regards to quadrant - it compares it with the other phones running on 1.6 or 2.1 so its not very accurate! With my San Francisco on Cyanogen Mod 7 I get 1500ish on Quadrant which is the highest there! Anyways, so that's me out of this sale but good luck :)

No problem, according to the Neocore forum 28 is mid to high so well done on getting 46 out of a ZTE Blade! Why would Quadrant compare it with phones on 1.6 or 2.1 when this runs 2.2, if it does that by default, surely the results are skewed and it was a pretty pointless request?

Yes but then I have a rough idea of what it is capable on 2.2 because I've tested Desire and Galaxy S on 2.2/2.3 previously :) GL with your sale mate though

No worries, still don't understand what you're getting at when i'm pretty sure it benchmarked it against a Desire on a like for like basis i.e. 2.2 and outperformed it, but thanks for your interest.

as the original seller of this phone (hi andy!) i can confirm that the scratches are only visible in certain angles and lights not when the phone is front facing and in no way does it affect the phone. also i'd like to point out the the performance of this phone far outweighs the san fran having owned them both, the screen is fantastic and bright and it was superb for internet and sat nav. hope this helps move things along :)
#26
Price reduced to £100
#27
Good price i would have had this but got a Desire instead couldnt find any acers.
Would defo had this over an SF any day of the week too lol
#28
so tempted but it would really be an impulse buy as not sure how much better this is over my Magic

max I could do is £90 delivered

EliTom
#29
Compare the spec if you want to see how much better they are, key differences are processor, screen resolution and camera resolution ;)

Can this be used as a sat nav without having a sim card in it?
#37
You could use the maps, but the guided navigation would need a data connection so either a MiFi in the car or a SIM I reckon.
#38
my £90 is still here is you still want to sell !
