Receiving this as a warranty replacement for an XPS system that I had previously.

Intel® Core 2 Extreme Quad Core QX9300 2.53GHz,1066MHz FSB,12MB L2 Cache
Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium 64bit- English
17-inch WUXGA 1920 x 1200 Beyond HD 1200p
4096MB 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 SDRAM
500GB Free Fall Sensor (7200 RPM)
SLI Dual 1GB GDDR3 nVidia GeForce GTX 280M
Internal Blu-Ray RW (Blu-Ray, DVD, CD Read & WRITE)
Wireless: European Dell Wireless 1510 (802.11n) Half Mini Card

For this sum of money I probably only want to deal with cash on collection, I'm in the Birmingham area.

That's the problem with the Dell/Alienware site. All you can do pretty much is guess what the system price would be because they often chop and change what is available to customise.

The base Alienware systems with 3 years warranty start at the £1948 mark including VAT and shipping. That's a single graphics card, a DVD writer, a 160GB hard drive in RAID1 mirror, and a 900p screen.

If you want to mess around with the spec on the site to try and get it around comparable, use the 500GB hard drive option (i know you get an extra drive on there because of RAID1 but still) knock it up to 1200p on the LCD. Use the i7 820QM processor because mine is a Quad Core Extreme rather than stock processor, That takes you to £2,407.98 and that's not including twin graphics cards nor does it include a Blu-Ray writer, and I haven't done proper comparisons of the processor but mine being an Extreme should add something on.

ebay item number 330401764697

The above unit is a refurb with an Italian keyboard, 1 years warranty, 400GB HDD and a DVD writer and its going for £1420 with 3 days left if you wanted any comparison, the graphics card and the processor are exactly the same as are the RAM and LCD. Also the battery here is 6 cell vs my 9 cell

yep frustrating,
i'm possibly interested if the price is negotiable and if postage is a possibility. message me if you want to talk. if not good look machine looks awesome:-D

Postage is a possibility, I'm just not sure how it would work though with such a large sum of money, I'm assuming whoever is parting with it would be more comfortable with an exchange. As for the price I'm going to stick to my guns here and not drift from the asking price. Cheers
