Looking to upgrade my system.

So have the following for sale, would prefer it all to go together but if not will listen to offers for individual bits. Please note individual prices are only if nobody is interested in the whole lot.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ (2.4GHz) CPU ADA4200DAA5BV 1MB Cache (never overclocked less than 6 months old bought OEM) £70

ASUS A8N-E Socket 939 Nforce4 Ultra atx Motherboard boxed complete. (less than 6 months old, boxed with bits - I/O shield, SATA Cables, IDE Cables, backing plate, screws, waschers, manual, usb ports, gaming port, cd)

The motherboard has been modified to make it less noisy. The Chipset fan was replaced with a silent heatsink. £40

Geil Dual Channel PC3200 1GB RAM (2 x 512MB) boxed complete (I Believe the Latency is 2.5, 2.5-8-4-4) £17

2 x 256MB PC3200 DDR RAM (believe this is infineon) £5

Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 (PWM) Heatsink and Fan boxed complete £10

AMD Stock Heatsink and Fan & Retail Box from a 3200+ works on this CPU fine. (non-heatpipe version) £3

I have feedback on here and on ebay as bluestreak56

Will accept BT (bank transfer), paypal (personal from bank account or in paypal account)

:-)
Shipping/Payment:
Prices will not include postage. Will charge actual cost. Please note some of these items are heavy and may cost a fair amount to post (ie mobo)

You can get a higher spec AM2 X2 (retail) for £42.
You can get a newer, AM2 mobo (with warranty) for under £40.
For about £27 you can get 2GB DDR2 RAM.
Total: £109

Those parts are overpriced, you won't get £132 for them.

Check ebay these are the going rates..

I know the newer spec AM2 components are cheaper but thats because they are more readily available..

These components are specifically for those people who want to upgrade existing S939 systems

Anything that doesnt sell will go on fleabay..

If the 'Arctic Cooling Freezer 64' is the Pro + V2 version, I'll offer £7.50 delivered BT.

Edit: Ta for reply below, but offer withdrawn

i wouldnt recomend u use that heatsink on that CPU as its not desgined to be used on a higer power cpu, i know the dual core is a 2.1 or whatever but its still double that which is more than 3200+

i would change the IT WORKS OK BIT,as it probably wont work that well, even a retail heatsink for a 6000+ X2 aint good enough for an X6000+X2 lol,u have to go 3rd party these days for cooling CPU'S,

i would also suggest lowering prices,as stated above u can get a cheaper am2 system for less and i know u say upgrade a s939 board, but cant see people doingthat when they can upgrade toa newer board and cpu for less,i hope you see my points and im not trying to spoil ya thread, just giving advice.

Appreciate the comments .. the stock fan runs about 40 degrees idle but never passes 55 on this board and the cpu is supposed to be able to handle 72 (never tried it though!) will change anyway..

Prices arnt set in stone theyre the going prices on ebay if someone wants to make an offer they may be please note I will be putting all of these bits of ebay if they dont get the right price I think theyre worth (I did alot of research on going prices before I listed)

Thanks for the advise

All at eBuyer, so it might be cheaper elsewhere.

OP: Being readily available doesn't really mean that much - they'rebetter components, for less money. I don't see how an old CPU or motherboard can be worth more, just because it's either out of stock or isn't stocked. I wouldn't expect loads for my Socket A CPU or Mobo simply because nowhere sells it...

If it worked like that I'd sell loads of 486s ;)

The point is that S939 isnt quite yet obsolete but you cant buy it in the shops. Im just trying to sell my bits at the going rate, take a look on ebay and you will see thats what these bits sell for..

If you would prefer an AM2 setup by all means go ahead. If you need 939 components as the title states come on in and have a look

I reckon those (& the ones made just above) are very valid points & people should comment/buy based on these. This sale isn't about what's better/worse for more/less money.
