Hi,

I have for sale an Apple Black Macbook A1181
Late 2006 Model
Intel Core2Duo 2GHZ
2GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300) (upgraded from 1GB)
160GB Sata Hard Disk Drive (upgraded from 80/120gb)
6X dual-layer write DVD±RW/CD-RW SuperDrive,
Intel GMA 950 integrated "graphics processor with 64 MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory",
13.3" widescreen TFT active-matrix "glossy" display (1280x800 native resolution).

The macbook itself is currently installed with 10.5.8 software and will come with the original 10.4.8 discs.

The 10.5.6 discs as pictured WILL NOT come with the macbook, they are at an additional cost of £80.
The macbook has a few scratches and marks on the face of the macbook, the screen is in very good condition. There is a slight raise of the right hand side by the key rest as pictured, this has only just happened. I suppose you could dab a spot of glue (if you are careful) to put that back in place.

Also the battery has stopped working, the battery has finally died after 783 battery cycles. So you will need a new battery, these are available as cheap as £35 on ebay.

It is fully working via the mains charger which is included.

So to conclude you get:
The black macbook
The original 10.4.8 mac OS discs
The magsafe charger
And I will also include a clear plastic hard casing that can go over the laptop.

The price of the macbook is £410, this is delivered.

If somebody wants to collect I would do it for £400.

I have taken into account the battery and the keyrest (as pictured).

According to this site.

*Apple officially supports 2 GB of RAM, but third-parties have been "unofficially" able to upgrade it to 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM (it can hold 4 GB but cannot fully utilize the memory beyond 3 GB).

As above really in relation to trades/part exchanges.

What model number is it? some of the old models can only handle up to 2gb RAM.

Ive seen these go for a lot cheaper than £400, was offered one with same specs for £330 and that was with a working battery and in white.

And one with majorly updated specs for £390:

That £330 one, was obviously a truly good bargain, i cannot argue that.

Your thread says wanted macbook £400, I am in that category.

This is the A1181Black Macbook, plus for my own view places seem to like black macbooks.

It was pretty good, but only slightly shy of what Mac2sell recommend the price to be.

£400 was my ABSOLUTE maximum, and that was before I failed my driving test and rebooked:thumbsup:

The A1181 is a "Core Duo" version, not a "Core 2 Duo", theres quite a bit of difference apparently:

Mac2sell is like any other buy to sell place like cex, they give you a fraction of what it is worth, that cannot be compared, or it can if people do not truly know the value of their item.

Your not looking at the right place.
This is a core2duo.( I have just rechecked the macbook model no and about this mac)

any chance u could come down a bit on the price?

You could also take the hard drive out and keep it for yourself if that'd bring the price down.

as per your original offer, I am not going anywhere near £300, im negotiable to a certain extent, BUT I know how much this is worth.

If you didnt want the hard disk, then possibly something could be sorted out.

No idea if you want the 10.5.6 discs? (but I could easily sell them on ebay for £80)

So as said, I am a reasonable person, there is some room for negotiation, but you have to be realistic in your offer.

have a think, and let me know your offer or whatever.

IF i cannot achieve a good price with somebody, then I may just pay out for the battery and keep it, but I would rather it go to somebody who is going to use its full potential etc.

Hi,

I'd be happy to take it without the hard drive and without any operating system discs/software if it would bring the price down a bit

Well what price were you thinking?
The 10.5.6 discs I wasn't including anyway it was only the original discs.
Would you be collecting or need delivery?

I'd need delivery included, the highest i could stretch to is £335 (if you've got a ps3 i'd be happy to send a few games / DS3 your way!)

Nah thats too low for me mate.
Don't own a ps3, just want cash really.
A hard disk on its own goes for approx £30.

So your offer would have to be increased.

Let me know

Hi I don't think your getting what I'm saying.
I can't accept £335 on it's own.
If £335 is your max cash I would need something else of a relatively good value as well on top.
My initial price was £410 incl delivery - hard disk£30 = £380

so something else needs to make up that difference.

As said before I know it's value I can't and won't sell for cheap.

Hi, I do get you, but the only things I have to trade are those things mentioned earlier in the thread (i.e. psp / ps3 games ds3 etc). If you fancy having any of those + the £335 then we can come to an agreement

I think each cpu is worth approx £50 so how about you pick which ever one you want and a cpu fan + £335.

Does that sound ok for you?

To be fair, I used to build pc's, and the going rate for an :
E2200 is approx £20
E6400 ranges from £25-35.

Fan wise i'm okay.

If you would do both cpu's + £335 we would probably have a deal, providing they were fully working.

Let me know
