FS: Apple Iphone 3G 8GB officially unlocked and just replaced - REDUCED £250.00

Looking to sell my 3G 8GB that was just replaced by Apple a few days ago as a in-warranty exchange. All accessories will be included except the earphones as they have been used (box IMEI and handset IMEI will differ due to the warranty exchange).

Looks as though Apple supplied it as unlocked as I have tried O2 and Vodafone SIMs and both have been registered by the phone.

As you would expect it is in great condition except for some very very minor hairline scratches on the chrome surround (about six) and on the silent button (most of these six scratches only show up when the light catches them at certain angles).

The phone was originally got under contract August/September 2009 so it is still under warranty and it has just been replaced.

Looking for £265 including RMSD by bank transfer.

Added close up pictures on second page.

Any trades at all?
#2
Just cash I'm afraid.
#3
Would you post first as no feedback on here?
#4
I'd be interested, but only if you were willing to post first. Thanks.

Edit: would like to make an official offer of 260, provided you post first, and provided that the phone is indeed unlocked, as i would be using an Orange sim. Thanks.

Thanks for the offers. Really not sure about posting first. Do you guys have excellent feedback on these forums? Is it normal for someone like me (not sold items here before but have sold items on other forums) to send first and then get payment? Is paypal an option or could you deposit some money up front with rest on delivery?

yeah it is quite normal for someone with no feedback to send 1st. I certainly had to do it when i started. You can see other peoples feedback by clicking on the "view ft/fs feedback" under their name to the left.
#7
Also if your too worried to send first, try to find someone that lives nearby and do a trade in person..
#8
Quick questions: never had an iphone ...Is GPS software already built into this, and is there a SIM only package I can get for this with unlimited internet and GPS?

BE CAREFUL
it depends on who is asking you to post 1st! i wouldn't post 1st an item of this value to someone who is :

a. new member
b.has less than 500 posts
c.has less than 20-30 feedback

cash on collection would be best

Hi, yes I haven't got tons of feedback but if you click my feedback you'll see that i have had traded on some high value items, including a straight phone swap for an N97, which i would argue is evidence that im trustable. I also have an eBay account of over 140 feedback i can contact you through if youre worried. I would consider paying some up front but you've got no feedback yourself, so I'm also a bit nervous. I really want this phone but as I said I'm paranoid, if not only also becuase Ive just recieved a "new" item on here than was faulty and out of warranty.

Gps abilty is built in yes. But in terms of software I believe it comes with Google maps as standard. If you mean something like tomtom, you would need it purchased from Appstore (£59.99 I think).
Quick search and O2 do a sim only plan (12 months, 800mins, 1600txts) with unlimited web or wifi, not both. Although Im sure there are better deals out there.
If it's your first iPhone, I'd recommend buy new :)

feedback on high value items means a lot on here, where is op from for possible collection? i dont blame you for being cautious - as i wouldn't send him any up front payment either :)

London, and I'm Northern Ireland... so I have to be doubly cautious as I can't exactly turn up angrily at his front door :-D

Hi, if they didnt give you a new box for the phone, is this a refurbed model? would be interested in purchasing still but not at that price. I had an original iphone which went faulty and was given a refurbed replacment.
#16
I suspect that it is probably refurbished but as my contract started in August/September 2009 you should still have the six months of warranty left.

I of course will be happy to exhange details (name, address etc.) in PM after a deal is agreed as per the rules.

I would really prefer payment first as this is what I have always done in the past.
#17
Well very few people on here are going to be willing to give £260 to someone using a 2 month old account, with no feedback and not even an avatar. You haven't posted full size pics and when I squint at the second photo, it doesn't even seem to have "vzx371" on it, just "DAXZA" or something.

edit: upon second inspection i see that it probably is your username, but upside down. lol. Have accepted an offer on another iPhone so withdrawing my offer. Thanks!
#18
OK thanks for letting me know RokkaMan.

I am willing to be a bit flexible on price - I just bought another handset on these forums a couple of days ago so do need to find a good home for this soon!
#19
Just to let you know i am still interested, gonna do a bit of price digging to see what a refurb is worth, i dont want to upset you with a silly offer. Ill post back tonight, unless its sold by then

Most prob been asked. would you post first?
#22
I would really prefer not to post first but may consider it if part payment is made first or if the buyer has got a lot of positive trading history here. Could also consider paypal.
#23
bump - am open to 'sensible' offers.
#24
want to trade for a e71 and cash?
#25
Sorry roadie but I am not interested in any trades.
#26
ok considering its is probably gonna be a recon will you take, £100 now and £100 when i recieve it? £200 altogther? or we could meet if you are close to b-ham or wolverhampton for £200 cash on collection. Also how would we ork the warranty if it goes faulty? ebay id is axe_1986 if you wanna check that feedback.
#27
Sorry axe_1986 but I cannot accept your offer of £200.

Apple provided confirmation of the warranty end date when they did the exchange and so I could provide a copy of this document to the buyer.

I have also reduced my asking price to £250.
#28
an offer of £220 here
#29
Thanks for the offer bazzaric but I can't accept £220.
#30
ok ill meet you between £220 and £250 i would give you the full 250 if it hadnt been replaced 250 would be a good price, but its a possible refurb that gets me. £235 is slightly more than i wanted to pay but the pictures make it look in decent nick.

Also is the half now half on delivery deal ok with you?
#31
axe_1986 have you got any feedback elsewhere? Are you ok about 150 now and rest immediately on delivery?
