I'll take some in a minute - check the thread in half hour and they should be on here.

How old? If it's in very good, hardly used condition, I'll take it at asking. It's a 3 or 4 season jacket right?

It is about 18 months old, rarely worn.
There might me the odd microscopic mark here or there if you look really, really hard (I can't see any though), but it is dry, the zips work, and it looks fine.

Photos added.

Yep, it looks good. Well I think I may be 2nd in the queue after mulla - is that right?

Technically yes, but Mulla did ask for "first shout" so I'll leave it up to the OP. But my offer is there subject to me looking a few reviews first. I've got a similar jacket but it's just a little too light - good for cycling - but need something I can add a fleece to for hiking. This looks good.

Back later OP, maybe tomorrow as my bath calls - and I need to tuck in the kids

Liddle, it is yours if you want it - you made me an offer first.

BT ok with you?

Sorry for the delay Faldiver. I'm still interested and BT would be fine of we went ahead. Could you help me out and provide a link to the exact item somewhere? I think this jacket has had a revision - latest is a may be an IA or something. Which one is yours? And can you guarantee it's not a fake - apparently there are plenty around. Cheers.
#11
Firstly, it is NOT a fake, I can guarantee that!

The IA version stands for 'InterActive' - where you can zip in a seperate fleece.

That is what this jacket has, as in the description in the first post.

I believe it is the 2007 version.

Thanks for all answers. Quick question re goretex - does it degrade, need waterproofing etc? I'm currently using an Event jacket by Montane - a 2007 jacket also - and the membrane has started to cause me problems, even after adding Nikwax. What's the situation with yours, and do you have any waterproofing wash etc to go with it? Thanks and sorry for all the questions
#14
Like anything else it will degrade overtime with use, I guess, but like I have already mentioned, this jacket hasn't been used very much especially in very wet downpours.
No I don't have any wash to go with it I am afraid. It wouldn't need it with the use it has had.
Remeber that it is 2 layer Goretex though.
#15
Right - last question, re size this time. My Montane is a medium but has become a bit of a tight fit ( I have expanded a little these last couple of years ), you say this one is a generous medium - anything to compare it with to give me an idea - I might pop into the local outdoor shop today (a good one) to try it or a similar jacket on for size. I have to be in town before 11:30 anyway.
#16
Size - well I would say it is more of a large than a medium (I am a large in most clothes and yet it fits fine.)
As a comparison with makes and sizes, I use a Montane Extreme that is a size large.

In that case I think it will be fine as I also have a Montane Extreme (the smock, right?) which is a medium and again, just a little tight now.

Right, how were you planning to send? Special delivery to make sure it's insured? And with an asking price offer will you throw something into the package to sweeten the deal? You don't ahve a copy of Crysis by any chance - my CD is too scratched to work!! :-D
#18
No, nothing else will be 'thrown in' as it is a fair price as it is.

Postage-wise - it will be insured.

Do you want my bank details then?

You are a hard man. :) But I'd still like to know what postage you'll use. Recorded delivery is insured but only to a maximum of £36 I believe, in which case it will not be FULLY insured.

Not really, I just find it annoying when people say they will pay a price for something then ask a load of questions afterwards!

It will be sent fully insured - if that means SD then that is how it will be sent. If it can be fully insured by another means then it will be sent by that method. Chances are it will be SD though.

I'm sorry you find me annoying, but I wanted to make sure I was buying the right thing. Admittedly I was chancing my arm asking you to throw in a freebie, but as for questions about size and waterproofing, etc, I think these are only to be expected when buying an item like this unseen.

And now I find your response to my questions annoying, so we are at am impasse. If you want to complete this deal with me at asking, please confirm what delivery method you will be using. If it is Special Delivery, I accept. If it is some other vague "fully insured" postage method, then I'll reconsider the offer.
#22
p.s. have to log off now as I must go to town to meet someone. Back in an hour or so.

Fair enough.

Having looked on RM's site, I can send it by SD if you want.
#24
Thanks for giving me the first shout but this not what i am looking for.
#25
Liddle i reckon you should ask the questions first then offer asking.
#26
Payment details sent.
#27
To 'Liddle ol' me' - Could you let me know when you intend to pay for this please?
Haven't had a reply to my PM yet.

Many thanks.
#28
Faldiver, there seems to be some confusion. I wasn't sure why you sent me payment details after refusing my offer, but having just looked above, I can see what must have happened.

The last post I saw was #24 @ 11:23am where you responded to my offer just before I left for town. It said something like: "Fair enough. I've explained my position on postage and don't intend to do so again. The item is now back up for sale." It appears you later edited this while I was gone to accept my offer (something I've just now seen). It also looks like you contacted Mulla to ask if he was interested (otherwise I can't understand his next post) before replacing your refusal of my offer with an acceptance.

Shall we start again to see whether we can both be happy proceeding with this sale? If it's ok with you, I'd prefer to let this settle before letting you know tonight if I want to put the offer back on the table. If somebody else comes along in the meantime, I will accept your decision to take their offer. Cheers.

Right, let's clarify this:

1. I never declined your offer at all. It was you who made the offer at my asking price and then asked the questions that in my opinion should have been asked before making an offer. I did edit my post as I said that I had already explained the postage situation, and did not need to go over it again. After checking RM's website I confirmed that I would send it by Special Delivery as you requested.

2. I have not contacted Mulla at all! I suggest if you are in doubt you ask him/her directly. I do not know why you think I did, as they were just stating that they are no longer interested in the jacket.

Look, I don't know what has gone on here and I've not had a trade on this website go like it before. As far as I see it you made an offer at my asking price, therefore I automatically accept it , and I am waiting for you to pay.

I am sending it SD, as you requested, and your post states that if this was the case that you would pay my asking price.

As I see it, the jacket is yours and I am simply awaiting payment.

Let's just confirm one thing though before I make any payment, because you are leaving out the important bit about your edit. Leaving aside how the thread developed, you did initially refuse my final offer of asking price usingSD, correct? You used the words "item back up for sale". I know this because I read them before going into town looking for a new jacket! You are not making this any easier for either of us by neglecting to acknowledge this. And re the mulla response, I happily accept my presumption was wrong on this.

Some misunderstanding going on here I think as I am not neglecting to acknowledge what I originally posted.

Yes, I said 'jacket still for sale', not "item back up for sale".

Until I receive payment then I do not class an item as 'sold'.

If an offer is made, and accepted, it is still not 'sold' until payment is made, do you not agree?

So I do not agree that I rejected your offer - I never did. Maybe you see it as that way but I don't!

I hope that clarifies things for you more, and I think it covers everything.

I'm off down the beach now, so I'll check this thread later.

All the best,

-Neil

hmm ... I don't have eidetic memory, although whatever words you used were interpreted by me as a refusal of my terms at that time. Whatever the exact truth (and even that gets lost over time), because you reconsidered your response and our communications seem to be back on measured tones, I will happily send you £65 by BT today. Enjoy your walk on the beach Neil (but please use a jacket other than this one!). :-D ~~

p.s. will PM you later today when I've made the payment. I don't have my barclays security card reader with me so can't do this till this evening

Jacket arrived this morning and it looks great - Very happy with the condition and the size - a perfect fit actually.

Thanks again Faldiver
