too expensive?
or are people just not looking for a BMW ... ?
#3
Possibly quite expensive for a N reg. Even though it is a BMW. If someone did buy it, the insurance would no doubt be killer (if there under 25) or have a claims record.

Also is it an automatic or manual?
#4
Its not that expensive, Just took a look on Autotrader, The nice examples are around £2000 and they have higher mileage to.

Does it have BMW FSH?
#5
Its a Manual, it has services at:

10/95 (pre-delivery inspection) - BMW
7/96 (service) - BMW
5/97 (inspection) - BMW
2/98 (service) - BMW
10/98 (inspection) - BMW
5/99 (service) - BMW
2/00 (inspection) - BMW
2/01 (inspection) - garage
9/02 (service) - BMW
6/04 (service) - garage

It hasnt been serviced as much in recent years as its done less than 20,000 miles since 2003...

Any more questions please do ask :)
#6
More pictures available on request, need to raise the money so I can buy a Mitsubishi Colt ... so looking for a quickish sale ...
#7
mot? tax?
#8
So are you saying it hasn't had a service in 3 years/20,000 miles?

Hardly a " Full Service History "
#9
MOT and TAX, will let you know how much when I get home ...

Last service was last year, but I forget to get it stamped, can go back and do it. We've only done 20,000 miles in it since we bought it, so I will double check the mileage at each service and put them down for you guys..
#10
MOT and TAX till september.

10/95 (pre-delivery inspection) - BMW 0 miles
7/96 (service) - BMW 7665 miles
5/97 (inspection) - BMW 18570 miles
2/98 (service) - BMW 27703 miles
10/98 (inspection) - BMW 38894 miles
5/99 (service) - BMW 47937 miles
2/00 (inspection) - BMW 57439 miles
2/01 (inspection) - garage 64957 miles
9/02 (service) - BMW 73191 miles
6/04 (service) - garage
#11
Therefore since we bought it in 01/02 weve done about 23,000 miles in 5/6 years so it hasnt needed as much servicing :)

How often has it been serviced since you've owned it?

Cars should be serviced every year....
#13
probably not as often as every year, but definately every 10,000 miles..

Its a sturdy car, BMW's generally are, we dont service our Mercedes every year, I can understand the poorer branded vehicles needing it, but we check the oil, sparks, tyres, water levels, frequently on our cars at home so we dont feel the need.

But thats a fair point most people do service once a year, perhaps will have to look at doing that for my colt.

Unfortunately your theory about your BMW not requiring servicing on a proper basis doesn't hold water, any car dealer will tell you that the reverse is true, and the lack of servicing since your ownership will have a significant effect on it's value.

That together with a short MOT would make your asking price somewhat optimistic, in my opinion.

I'd be inclined to agree unfortunately, It looks good if the car is serviced every year regardless of the miles, Simply because its a stamp in the service book for every year, For the £80 quid or so it costs, It easily makes that up when it comes to reselling

I fully agree,I might be interested.... but my offer would be dependant on you getting the vehicle a new MOT prior to the sale,if you would be interested please get in touch
#17
MOT shouldnt be a problem as it will whizz through.

Ill let you know what the MOT date is exactly and also get out last years MOT certificate to see if it has any advisory items on it (which I doubt).

Will let you know when I get home this evening.

I appreciate that services are only about £80 but we really just didnt see the need, will keep in mind for the next car..

If you do the service yourself, Keep the receipts and it'll work out around £40 for spark plugs, Air filter, Oil filter and Oil etc.

MOT isnt due to not due until the 27th September but I would be willing to MOT it again, if you are going to purchase it...
#20
anymore interest? will be sticking on autotrader if not ...

was going to stick on ebay but after i got charged 15% for selling my Micra on there, I think it may not be worth it!!

Maintenance is dictated by the green service lights
