FS: Brand New Ipod Touch 8gb £135.00

The idiot that I am, I have just bought two Ipod Touches for my wife. She clearly only needs one!

So I am selling a brand new 8gb first gen Ipod Touch. The packaging is sealed and the warranty expires in September 2009.

Oh also, as an extra, this is a US version so the volume is uncapped, can make it higher than normal if you like your music loud.

I want to recoup £130 for this so I am selling it for £135 including special delivery. No offers as I must recoup £130 for it.

If you want to pay by PayPal, you must cover fees or pay via BT.

I can provide photos on request (in fact, I will do) but it is brand new, sealed, and I have high rep and feedback here, and even moreso on eBay.

If you would like this, let me know.

Price drop to £125.

I've just found out that I can return the other one if I need to for free :-) so if this doesn't sell, I'll keep it!!

is it though? as far as we are all led to believe the 'refurb' models are as good as a new one with new casings etc

Theres no difference. One is a refurb from a reputable shop. The other is from some randomer off an online forum without guarantee.

The pros and con even themselves out for both - so may as well go for the refurb.

If I was you, I'd send it back.

Yeah true vibeone. Although the guarantee with Apple is with the serial number, so there's a warranty and the trustworthy factor comes with high rep and feedback.

Just depends what you want. A touch previously used or displayed with uncertainties on the condition, or one that is brand new and sealed, never been touched so immaculate. Pros and cons of both indeed.

Upon thinking though, I am willing to negotiate on the price a little bit if there's anyone who genuinely wants a brand new one.

Or as stated, I'll just send it back. I have a little room to negotiate and if it goes any lower, it's cheaper for me just to return one.

Hopefully this isnt thread spoiling (as Im not looking to buy) but since you say that this is brand new I assume that this is the 2nd generation iPod touch that you are selling?

Just because I thought id point out the one on the apple website will definaly be the 1st Generation (i.e. no physical sound buttons and no nike+ blutooth connections ect) and so its not fair to compare it to the refurbed one, only to the new Apple prices which are £34 more! Bargain IMO

From the original post.

So I am selling a brand new 8gb first gen Ipod Touch

So i would guess it's not so brand new.

£110 here mate

sven - it's brand new in that it's sealed, unused, unopened, untouched. That's what brand new is. Not what model it is.

And the fact that it's first gen is why it's so cheap.

MB, thanks for the offer but it's a tad too low - I would do better by returning the other one, sorry bro.

Bump one. If this doesn't sell, I'll return the other one.

I am happy to drop the price a bit now, if anyone would like to make a sensible offer. Note, this is still brand new, sealed, US version so volume uncapped.

I can unseal it if you'd like me to check anything inside, though it'd still be brand new.

Thanks.

the very fact you the original purchaser are now selling it makes it second hand albeit unused:thumbsup: without the reciept the apple warranty will cover from approximate date of manufacture
if you have the reciept the warranty would be from date of purchase

the lack of the stupid volume cap is great so i think your price fair so have a bump :)

If you check the serial number on the Apple website, Apple will tell you how much warranty is left and they don't ask for proof of purchase, they only need the serial number to deduce date of purchase.

The date of expiry of this item's 12 month warranty is September 2009, 11 months almost to the day.

This item is indeed brand new, unopened and unsealed. I'm not sure what you call brand new, but this certainly is, despite who is selling it!

However, that said, my price has now dropped from £135 to £125. Apple had it on their website for £119, refurbished. This is £5 more as it covers my postage cost. Apple no longer have it anymore, this is brand new with a similar warranty.

I've decided I want to sell this by tonight (couple of hours) and I can return my second, not brand new, one for £120. And then keep this one. So if anyone wants this for £125, I'll keep it sealed and it's yours and I can open and play with the other one. Otherwise, the other one goes back tomorrow and I open this one and play with it.

So if anyone wants it, bottom line, £125, else it goes back and I get my £120 for the other one.

Thanks.

Final bump, am on the phone to the other company now. Either this brand new one goes for £125, or the other one goes back.
