I would hold on to it as a back-up for when your HomeHub fails.

(Almost, but not quite a joke).

AH!!!

The old white box modems have proven quite reliable, whereas the HomeHubs havent, especially the wifi side of them. I know of someone on their third HH5, not to mention the poor firmware coding on some models, that falls over when you plug a ChromeCast device in.

I've been asking BT for weeks now to enable BT WiFi/FON on the hub and it's just never worked. Would've saved giving our password out to everyone but they can't figure out how to get it turned on. Smart Hub so far is reliable enough but it's only a month or two old.

The joke is the HH reliability. I held onto one of these modems for just that reason. My ex BT HH5 got hardware fault just yesterday and is no longer holding connection. No hardware included in super cheap Plusnet fibre deal I got when left BT. Glad I kept the modem.

I have spare one too if anyone still after one of these modems.
