BT Vision needs to be activated on a BT Broadband line, it won't work with any other provider, it will work very limited as a STB but it gets all it's EPG info through the ADSL connection. Worth £10 like as it has a 160GB hardrive in it. BT said a while back it will make the box compatible without a ADSL connection. However as yet that hasn't happened.

You'll need to ring BT Broadband or Vision sales and get it enabled on your line, not sure if they charge you for this. Ring them and ask 0800 800 900 I think a connection charge of £30 may apply, which seems harsh. Not spoiling thread giving advice here: You can get a free box and self install pack (powerline adapters) if you recontract to BT Broadband, again connection charge is £30
