What was the original Recommended Retail Price of this item?

As much as PS1 titles used to cost, I think the most I paid (for "Tekken 3") was £39.99.

In future, please be careful that you are not seen as profiteering.

I appreciate that (although eBay is not a valid source for price comparisons); I am a video game collector also.

What I was attempting to convey was that the "For Sale / For Trade" forum rules are there to be adhered to.

If it is in the opinion of the Moderators that you are selling above the Recommended Retail Price (rare item, or not), then you may receive infraction points.

Hopefully you saw my input as it was intended; I was just trying to be helpful to a relatively new member.

BFN,

yeah i understand but im not going to sell something at a lesser price due to the rules mate im not screwing anyone out or conning its just the value of the item now regardless of age or the price i paid for it if its collectors item i think that mods should have a pinch of salt and respect people interests in rare items at their value hopefully i dont get suspended for my opinions just close the thread if im infraction the rules

thecoolguy,

I've reviewed the thread and the comments on this occasion are fine to stand. A member is pointing out the rules and seeking clarification. Cut out the rudeness.

Fanpages points are always clear and not intended to thread spoil. Indeed it's members like him who help the vast majority by looking out for trades which might not adhere to trading rules.

If you want to discuss further, please do so directly with us. Your comments are worthy of consideration for therad spoiling.

i think there should be an exception to the profiteering particularly with regards to rare collectibles as it stands to reason that some things are going to be above original rrp but thats just there value, is it profiteering to have held on to a game for years and have made lets say £40... theres certainly easier ways to make money

though understandly if sum1 picks up a bargain at a car boot for £1 and sells for £40 there profiteering but you just can regulate this old school stuff so its needless to try

As a matter of interest I would like what he asked clarified as can you not list over say the RRP at release and say what happens if the item hasnt been sold for say 15 years and items were worth less than at RRP due to inflation.

Profiteering..LOL. Get real, the game is 15 years old!!! Its a collectors item so shouldn't in any way come under any scrutinous profiteering watchdog as there's no price to gauge it against as it's simply not on general sale anymore. I think he should be able to price it as he see's fit and tbh, 42 is very low regardless of the art book missing. Plenty of Retro shops knock this out for 100+ never mind ebay.

I would have taken this at £42 had I saw it at the time of posting. I'd have been happy to pay asking price as it's a classic game that is extremely rare and I'd have to pay £100+ on the only other place that sells them (flea-bay). +1 OP

Hahahah, classic :')

Still though, can't get it cheaper anywhere so it's still a good deal in my eyes. £3 was a steal! xD
