I have for sale a Dell Base Unit - dual boot system setup with Mac OS X (leopard 10.5.6) and Windows XP Home.
XP runs well. But surprisingly OS X runs just as well - with xbench giving a score of 113. You can see the result of xbench website.
Come with all the original Dell Software for Windows XP and drivers. Obviously, I can't provide or support Mac OSX software, but I can guarantee it works almost perfectly and it already has iLife '09 and MS Office 08 (for Mac) installed, as well as other bits.
Pentium 4 - 3.4GHz
1GB Corsair RAM
250GB Maxtor HD - shows up as 233GB when formatted (193GB XP NTFS, 10GB - shared FAT32, OS X 30GB)
Built-in Network card
Integrated Graphics (VGA out)
7 USB slots + floppy drive
The system has a PCI-E card for upgrade of video card - I previously ran a GeForce 6800 Ultra in the system which ran very well. Although using a graphics card would mean you would need to update OSx86 drivers/kext files which may be quite technical.
Overall I would say this is a basic system, but very effective for basic operations. And being dual-boot gives you access to OS X for a very reasonable price, and I would say performance OS X is still very good (Xbench score:113) although not quite at the level of the latest hardware. Very useful for those who would like to experiment or experience OS X.
I can also sell the 21.5" Asus screen I'm using - which is Full HD - with HDMI, VGA and DVI connection. With this screen I'm able to run OSX with the integrated graphics at 1920x1080 resolution. The system with the screen, will cost £420 and with out the Asus LCD screen £245 (Dell base system only)
Also includes DVD-RW drive that supports lightscribe and DL burning.
Cash on Collection only
I may be able to have the system delivered, although I would need time to arrange packaging and shipping costs.
