Note to mods: this is not the fully working one listed here previously. Check specs to see it's same model, but different beast.

Selling the PC with faulty screen that I bought on here a while back. See first post for link to original sale, and note that I'm including the monitor I've been using with it. The monitor is a Digimate L-1715. Not the prettiest or latest model but does the job and I'll include the VGA cable I've been using.

Sold as is (see previous sale to understand fault). I did not attempt to fix the original problem as I only needed the machine for a project at work.

Few other things to note:

1. Will do fresh install of OS before sending to wipe HDD. However, I will not be updating drivers etc. All the original install discs are included for you to complete that job, and it's boxed in the original Dell box.

2. NO POWER LEAD INCLUDED. Unfortunately, I lost it when transporting from the office! But the machine will be fully charged on arrival as I have another fully working M1530 (which I'll be listing for sale in a week's time btw, now that I've got a new Dell i7 on the way).

3. This machine has been working fine except for the screen issue and LAN cable connection mentioned on the original thread (think this is a driver issue and I couldn't be bothered trying to resolve it). However, the machine was only used for 30-40 hour for a specific project, so I know very little about it otherwise (i.e. I didn't use it for everyday work).

**************

NOW HAS PSU (I received an extra PSU with my Dell 1747 upgrade to 130w)

Hi i'm interested in the laptop, but not the monitor as I have a spare one to use with the laptop already, would you be willing to split? thanks
#3
Sorry don't want to split, as I have no use for the monitor now either.

Has a repair attempt ever been made on the laptop?

Not by me. Just plugged it into the monitor. Sounds like the original owner didn't either, according to his description, but I guess you need to confirm that with him.

Hi Liddle, just thought I would pipe up here or a sec...

I was the original owner of this laptop before Liddle bought it off me a few months back. I did taje the screen apart and came to the conclusion that the inverter wa the problem, but did not have the opportunity to confirm this. Otherwise the laptop was (and would seem still is) in full working order except for the the screen problem. When i had it, the screen worked but there was no backlight so was hard to see.

Sorry if this is seen as thread spoiling, but I thought it was important to clear up what exactly the problem was / is.

Thanks Simon. The screen is exactly the same and nothing has changed. You can still make out things on the screen, but without the backlight it is difficult. Twice when I turned on the laptop, the backlight came on for a split second btw.

That's great, thanks for the input.

Would be prepared to make an offer for just the laptop, so let me know if you decide if you're willing to split.

When you say no power lead, do you mean the no PSU for the laptop mate?

Yes. Thinking I may be better off selling the memory and HDD on here and listing what's left as spare parts on ebay

Thanks, but won't be splitting. If I do, I'll be stripping the laptop.

Do you know what the input voltage and amps are though mate, could have a matching spare one here and I'm interested in this.

I'm using my other Dell charger for it atm (M1330) but afaik they use the same charger anyway. It's the Dell PA-10 family 90W, like this one. Might be even cheaper on ebay

Off topic here, but is it my old M1530 that you will be selling next week?

No. It's a newer machine, a 2.5GHz. I've just bought a17" i7 Quad Core so clearing the decks a bit. I'll probably also list my older Quad Core desktop when the new laptop arrives. Interested in getting an M1530 again?
#22
I'm actually interested in a upgrading the desktop to a quad core. What spec is the one you are thinking of selling?

I'll count this as BUMP 2 as it's off-topic. And everyone please note the desktop below is NOT FOR SALE, so I won't answer any more questions about it. If I do decide to sell, it won't be for at least another week, after my new Quad Core laptop has arrived and been tested.

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0 SLACR @ 3.2GHz; 8GB OCZ PC2-6400 Reaper DDR2; ASUS P5K Premium Motherboard; OCZ GameXStream 700w Silent SLI Ready ATX2 Power Supply; NVIDIA BFG 8800 GTX OC2 (768mb GDDR3); Antec Nine Hundred Case; Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme CPU Cooler; Scythe S-Flex 1600rpm Ultra Quiet 120mm Fan; Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB; 1TB SATA Hitachi 7200rpm 16MB Cache (Saturn); Asus DRW-2014L1T 20x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer Lightscribe ReWriter.

If I do decide to list the above, I'll send you a PM in advance to let you know
