Ok between the wife and myself we have 4 cars so one of thems got to go. This drew the short straw lol. Escort Ghia X 1.8 petrol, Pepper red, 1997, 97k, Standard Ford ICE (cassette player with 6 disk multi changer built into the passenger seat), Air conditioning, Electric Windows. MOT August 09 (went straight through the last test with 2 advisories. Only problems with it are a bit of rust on the rear arches (well it is a Ford...) and a bit of lacquer peeling off the bonnet (probably be about £25 for a replacement if the buyers that bothered). Putting it on at £450 but open to offers as I want it gone, need the space so I can completely strip and rebuild my cabby......

Pics to follow. I doubt anybody on here will want it so if it's not gone in about a week i'll have this locked and chuck it in the freeads.

Location : Ashford, Kent (TN25 area).

Any tax at all, buddy?

And do you have any pictures of the arches?

Tax ran out September. Herers a side on view so you can see the arch, easy fix with a bit of filler. Would recommend viewing it yourself if you're interested though. Forgot to say in the OP it also has 'uprated' brake disks as well.

OK, bottom line I need this gone so if somebody wants to offer me £350 i'll take it. No lower than that though as it's worth more in bits

Think i've seen that sort of service advertised on ebay but it would probably cost more than the car as it's a fair old journey

Runs nice. The only reason for the sale is the father in law bought us a citroen xsara (which makes me car sick as it rides so sloppy) in an attempt to stop me filling his drive with escorts (he's nor a Ford fan ). We've had it since 2006 and i've hardly had to touch it. Had to put a pair of shocks on the rear MOT before last as one was leaking (I always do more work than is needed, saves time later on) but apart from that and fitting the decent brake discs I haven't had to touch it apart from servicing.

If you drive it up as far as Lancaster Shengis, I'll take over there and you can take the train back down South. Then I'll boot up to Scotland and deliver it and take the train back to Lancaster.

We HUKD'ers gotta help each other out, eh? Anyway an excuse to get outside and see the world

I'd be up for it but it's got no tax :-(

could be an option, how would he get it back with no tax though?

Always comes back to that  To be honest i'd rather somebody local came and saw the car then they could decide whether they wanted it or not and arrange the tax/insurance. Less of a wasted journey that way if they didn't like it.

Will speak to my car man 2morrow and let you know fella.

After some pillock crashed into the side of our lasses car the other week, we're looking for something like this. Ever wanted to see the bright lights of Doncaster?
#26
Maybe not. The Mrs likes the car but she wants a smaller engine.
#27
a daft question maybe but wouldnt the new owner want it taxed ? so wouldnt it make sence to sent shengis the money to tax it ? this solves the driving it there issue , also a flight to london to glasgee is about 40 quid which is a little more than the coach

shengis whoever has it make sure you have half the cash which is none refundable before you leave the door , this is only right and fair on both parties

I can't tax it as it's not insured (being kept offroad). If I could I would, if nothing else it would make it easier to sell. At the end of the day, if I can't sell it i'll have the engine, loom, ECU, wheels etc and put them all on/in my cabriolet:-D Would rather sell it though as i'm not in the habit of destroying something that somebody could use 'as is'. (and a lot of the bits on it won't fit a mk5 )
