The newer model with Lightscribe and Firewire is cheaper:

Thanks for pointing that out, mumbojumbo. Howvwe, I went by Google which list a number of stores, the cheapest of the same modal are £35.99, but the stores dont have them, with the highest price being £50.32.

http://www.google.co.uk/products/catalog?q=Freecom+DVD+RW+Recorder+USB+External+-+31651&cid=6875499290820107836&os=sellers#p

and Amazons used ones are 2 used from £38.50
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freecom-31651-Double-Layer-USB-2/dp/B001QFLFMA/ref=pd_rhf_shvl_2

So I seem to have price mine reasonably in that context. The modal you mention goes up to over £70 on ebay. Having said, that I will investigate further given your quote.

Sorry for the late reply mate, had a very busy day.

Seeing that you're from the wealthy bush/binladen family, I am sure you mother-in-law could afford something closer to my asking price,:p.

As to posting first, I believe paypal would garantee the goods or your money back. this would be my 2nd sale, yesterday was the first and I posted first, this morning in fact.

Cheers

sorry but i asked her and thats her max mate.

as for paypal, that only guarantees it if i pay as a transaction, whereas a lot of us peeps on here pay by paypal gift so YOU dont have to pay fees, hence the need for some trust (i.e you sending first). it just saves us all money in the long run instead of filling paypals deep pockets......

hi there, sorry for getting back late- I have quite few items for sale but lack of time to put them up.

Sorry, £35 delivered is the lowest I could accept. The cheapet prices quoted in the link above are without delivery or/and vat; with these included the cheapest is £42, just as my asking price. But I would sell mine for £35. If you would like a lower spec, I have a brand new BUT INTERNAL drive, LG GCE 8525b complete with all the fitting, cd and manuel, for £15 delivered. At ebay, 2 second hand ones with cd etc.. are £15 & £16 respectively delivered, items nos 320522802775 & 360265783381.

my first sale of 2x512 laptop ram suitable for also mac went for the asking price of £10 delivered and received the next day. I could easily have sold them £20+. So my price is very reasonable and intend to sell other items very reasonably, to.

As for saving money for us ordinary people rather than pay ebay/paypal commission, I couldn't agree more. But given the trust issue it pays sometimes to consider having some kind of insurrance.

Cheers
