FS Faulty 360 core £40.00

I have an Xbox 360 core model, no pads, leads or power brick for sale.
The only fault on it is the DVD drive, these are easy to replace if you have the gear to reflash the drive, I don't, so am looking to sell it.
Would like £40 plus postage costs for this, thanks,

Mike..

to switch a drive, dont you need some sort of drive key (sorry I dont know much about it)?
#2
Did you try and flash the drive and mess it up? Or is the DVD drive just mechanically faulty in some way?

he ke you speak of isthe firmware on the drive (or so I belive) you have to make a dump of the "key" from the existing , broken DVD drive, then flash that to the new drive so that the 360 will recognis it.

No, I bought the console faulty with this issue as I needed the leads for another 360, from what I gather it is the actual DVD dive, it is an Hitachi drive and there are apparently issues with glue or something coming unstuck on the drive and a small metal piece getting stuck to the roof of the drive, thus rendering the drive useless.
If it is any help to anyone it is giving the "disk unplayable" error message, a sure sign of a broken DVD drive.
Warranty sicker is intact and he box has not been opened, although obviously the warranty has run out.

You can arrange collection with parcel2go for about £5.99 I think or you can collect from the Ipswich area, no problems either way,

Hi Mike you say the dvd drive is not working does it give the ring of death or just say cannot read disc when you try to play as game, also is it poss you could test it and tell me what it does or says if you have the power brick and leads so you can connect it.

As the OP states, this is a broken drive, it says "disc unplayable" as previously stated.
It does not have the RRoD, otherwise I would have sent it Microsoft for a free repair.
I have plugged it in and tested it, but the leads are not included as I want them.

Would want to wait for the money to clear though if thats OK with you?
if so, then I will deal with you at £32.50 and you can arrange your own collection as per your original offer.

Lloyds TSB, although I checked out the PP fee's and they are only £1.30 anyway, so not much hassle, we could split them if that's easier?

hey bacon, when you get this xbox... try a DVD movie.... if it plays a movie but then will not play an xbox game then I'm afraid the key is not correct for that Xbox.

Just saves wasting your time.

@ TheGimp: as previously stated, this XBOX has NOT been opened, by me or anyone else.
It doesnt play DVD's, games, CD's, PS3 games or Wii games.

My mate hd it from new, he played GTA for about 2 days, it broke, he bought a new one, I bought this and kept the leads to use on a RRoD console I bought cheap, then I offered it for sale here.
That is the complete life story of the little 360, lol :)

sorry Mike. I thought you had bought it randomly just for the leads. I have a console here that someone brought to me for repairs but the Key he has is of a different dvd drive so unless we can get the key off his inoperable drive then we're up **** creek. Just that it sounded like a similar situation and it would suck to spend hours trying to nut it out if it wasn't needed.. Anyways good deal all the same.. Probably just needs a new laser.

Bears on this thread, stiff on the other?

Too many convenient mispellings for my liking :?
#37
you act like i do it on purpose!!!!!

There is a reason i said stiff on the other topic........its because i was writing on my iphone, and it auto corrects everything pretty much! annoying!

on this thread i was using a computer so there shouldn't have been a mistake in spelling.

lol, was only kidding, trust me i mispell all the time as well. A friend of mine read through what i thought was a flawless dissertation that i just finished and found two mispells on the first page!

Too bad i already handed it in
