Faulty RROD Xbox 360

3 Red Rings, Error Code 0001

Returned from Console Wizard Un-Fixed

Console Only, No Hard drive, Leads etc

DVD Drive was working perfectly before RROD, Case in good condition

2005 Launch Date Model

Not HDMI

sorry but going to have to withdraw my offer - apparantly you cannot just swap teh DVD drives.

Just read on some forums taht the drives are keyed to teh motherboard!

yep - I naively thought it would be that simple - bl00dy M$

mates young lad has an Xbox 360 where it does not always read teh DVDs - thought this maybe a quick fix!

its not impossible my friend bought a replacement dvd drive and copied the key over not sure if hes stayed offline since but he isnt running cf

The drives can be swapped, I found various videos on You tube as i was thinking of removing the drive from this one to put in a friends faulty xbox so we would manage to get one working xbox out of both of them but it never happened and i ended up buying another with my club card vouchers

there should be a little hole in the front of the tray - poke an opened up paper clip in this hole and you should feel a little bit of resistance - push gently a little further and the tray will open manually - once its opened a bit gently pull it all the way out

Looks like i have a Hitachi drive,

that tiny hole about hole 3 is the paperclip eject hole - thats what I was looking for

I'm sorry but its not moving, The paperclip just hitting some thing hard. I'm not having much luck. I'm sure that site is correct when saying its a Hitachi drive

sorry but if I cannot confirm the drive type then I am going to have to pass on this as even £20 is not worth the gamble if its teh wrong drive
