Ordered this by mistake for my laptop, needed a 2.5in drive but ordered a 3.5in in error.
Arrived today, packaging for drive has not been opened.
Didn't want the hassle of sending back to retailer and arguing my case for a full refund.

Price includes postage, RM recorded delivery.

Trade for a 2.5in SATA drive 160gb or more, preferably in new condition or less than 6 months old.

Send it back under DSR? I doubt you'll get anywhere near £35 for it on here.

I was gonna say that, I bought a Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB last week for about 38 quid...

Hi
Think I might have a good case for sending it back. When ordering I searched for 'laptop hard drive 2.5'. This drive appeared on the first page of the list and the title did not state 3.5in or desktop so I assumed it was for a laptop. I ordered it in a hurry without reading the full description in an attempt to meet the next day delivery deadline. Paid a premium for the delivery too!

I'll see how it goes on here, if I get a decent enough price I won't bother with the hassle of sending it back to the retailer.

Cheers

That was from ebuyer I think, hang on and I'll have a look...

It's Caviar Green, not Blue- but £38.99. Cheapest delivery (super saver) is £2.58. Alternatively, spend another 11.01 to bring it to £50 and you get free delivery.

I can do it for £30 delivered, it would cost me a few quid to send RM 1st class recorded.
Deal?

If you bought it online, you don't need a reason for returning it. The Distance Selling Regulations give you a 7 day cooling off period during which you can send it back for any reason. The only drawback is that you have to pay the return postage and you'll only get a refund net of delivery charges. However, I doubt you'll get more than £25 for it on here - they can be bought for under £30 if you shop around - so you'll probably be better off returning it.

Highest would be £25 im afraid mate as if i go to £30 i may aswell go for the 500gb. Your better off sending it back mate

Just trying to recover my costs/mimimize my loss with this. I paid over £35 for this drive to be delivered next day. Plus, I'll have to pay more postage for it be delivered back to the retailer or on to someone else.
You're right, I am going to be better off sending it back to the retailer as the cost price was £28.74 before postage.

No worries mate, thanks for showing interest, the 500gb link you posted is a cracking deal.

It's about the same price at all the main online sellers. And delivery is very expensive from xcase.co.uk (£8.95!). Hard drive is £37.94 from www.novatech.co.uk and delivery is only £1.99 + VAT. Too many online retailers are scamming on delivery charges - a bit like the old days at Thiefbay.

The one you're talking about on Novatech is the 16MB cache edition. The one on ebuyer has the 32MB cache.

Sorry was referring to wesley's xcase link, didn't realise the delivery charge was that steep. In that case yours sounds like a better deal.

Makes my offer of £30 delivered also more attractive :p

Anyone want to trade for a 2.5in SATA drive of 160GB or more?
