FAULT. - DEAD MOBO - I ASSUME.

*** Brief history of laptop ***

Bought 3 years ago or so. Worked perfect up until few weeks ago. Was just about to watch some BBC Iplayer - Frankie Boyle legend. Then the laptop powered off in Windows there was no movement or shock or anything. So I checked everything, did the usual took the memory out etc etc. Nothing. So I took the machine a part couldn't see anything wrong. got lights from power pack and the light on the side of the machine but will not boot.

*** NOTE I TOOK THIS APART - REMOVED HARD DRIVE (120GB) - BUT I HAVE KEPT THE SATA CONVERTOR FOR THE HD AND THE OUTER CASING SO YOU CAN USE THIS AGAIN.

I am keeping the hard drive for personal information reasons.

The specification of the laptop is as follows:-

1.73 Ghz Intel core 2 duo
Upgraded to 2GB DDR 2 RAM
**Removed** 120GB Drive
DVD-RW
Intel On Board Graphics
Mini PCI Wireless card.
HD SCREEN
Altec Lansing Speakers

Its just had a new power pack 2 months ago.

Any further questions please ask.

Will keep it in mind. But you can't buy the screen on ebay for that. Postage will cost me £7.98 alone.

Turns out it has an Intel MEdia Accelerator, rather than one of those dodgy Geforce cards.

Unfortunately not covered by any of HP extended warranty schemes, take it apart and sell the bits, you will make more money that way.

Was that the only reason for you interest?

Will take to much time. As said screens worth £60.

£60 from dude786 is better than it sitting on the shelf for next few month. And you could use part of that money to fund the memory (PC133 SoDimms) you wanted. ;-)

Already have have a deal with Summoner for that.

Think £75 is as good price. That will cover my postage and leave me with £65 ish.

Screens worth that alone if you can't fix.

That leaves you the CPU/CPU-Housing/Plastics/SCREEN/Memory/DVD-RW Drive/Internal parts (switches)/Keyboard/ Brand New power pack) £100 in parts.

So enough to retain your money back on and probably make a profit. I just can't be faffed sorting fees out and postage on all this on fleebay. Easier just for me to get rid.
