I got this SSD in a macbook I bought a month or so ago but I'm not utilising its potential so I'm going back to a normal HD. It loaded all my apps instantly (even my 40gb itunes library!), so it's v.quick, but it'll be better used by someone else.

Looking for £110 + pnp which I think is reasonable, offers welcome.

Would trade for a regular HD (only 250GB or above) + Cash.
Will consider other trades, let me know what you have!

EDIT: I've formatted this so it's clean- no software or operating system is included.

was the macbook new when you bought it?
#3
No, it was a 2nd hand 13 "macbook (alu unibody- the one before they made it a pro)
#4
Does the SSD come with a receipt?
#5
No sorry- it came in my macbook so I literally just got the ssd, no receipt, no box.

There is probably still warranty remaining on it but I don't know how to check- can't say 100% that there is though.

I've taken these things into account in my pricing.

I have a 640GB 2.5" Samsung HDD and £40. Because that's got the notorious JMicron controller, and you don't really know how old it is, or have a receipt, I think it's a fair price. Tell me what you think.
#8
640GB is a bit more than i need to be honest, but if you can make it £50 then i'll call it a deal (both pay for our own pnp)
#9
Well you can choose between that or an official 250GB that came with my MacBook Pro if you want? It's a bit faster and about the same value if you don't need that much space?

Not fussed as to whether it's official or '3rd part' i.e samsung, western digital etc, once it's formatted they all seem the same to me.

A new WD blue 250gb can be had for £31 inc pnp from amazon, and a new samsung 640gb can be had for £49. I'd value mine at at least £100.

How do you value your 250gb at the same as the 640gb? im assuming the 250gb was the stock drive so that'd mean it's a 5400rpm drive, which I'm guessing is the same as your samsung?

I guess, but since it is an official apple part, it's worth a bit more. Up to you. The Samsung HDD is only a few months old and I can email you the receipt as well. Also, when would you be posting the item?
#13
I can post as soon as we arrange a deal. If you'll do £50, then I'd probably take that and the 640gb drive.

Well you have low feedback, and no feedback for actually selling anything before. Would it be OK if I posted the hard drive tomorrow, and paid you on receipt for the SSD? I've been schorched on private trading before, so it would be a worry off my chest. Thanks.

I'd rather do the trade in full- you're right I have no selling feedback on here, but that means I can just as easily get taken for a ride. Everyone has to start somewhere.
#16
Sorry, it's a JMicron drive with no receipt, with the post here I wouldn't get it this side of Christmas and, despite the fact that I'd have been completely justified in asking you to post first, you didn't accept my compromise. Thanks anyway.

I have a 250gb hard drive Straight out of a new MacBook, how much cash you looking for?

You would need to post first though, obviously you can check my high feedback for reassurances

Well It's low but I have £60 spare and would go 1/2 then post then 1/2. I have bought before so you know, im trustworthy.

i Could offer GoW 1 and 2 (2 is limited edition) on xbox as well not that you probably want them.
#19
Simple i will send £30 by paypal merchant (for insurance) me paying seller fee's and then when i get it you will have £30 paypal gift. I believe this is fair. Maybe £70 inc p&p
#20
im not willing to post a high value item first- it's basically me sending someone £100 with no guarantees. I know I have low feedback but I have plenty of feedback elsewhere.

It doesn't look like I'll be getting the sort of price I was looking for so i'm going to close the thread as I will be selling elsewhere. Thanks to everyone for their interest- I may relist and accept lower prices if i get no joy.

Ok let me know if 70 is good enough at a later date then
#22
Varlbear, will do.

Mods, I've clicked the expire link at the top of my listing, but it still shows up as FS/FT. Can you close it for me. Thanks.
#23
I may be interested, but really need a model number or something from underneath to assess the specification of the drive properly.
#24
sorry it sold elsewhere after i expired this listing
