Well i've purchased a new TV, so looking to get rid of this.

It's a Sony Bravia 50" SXRD TV

Model Number: KDFE50A12

In very very good condition - no marks. Comes with official Sony Remote.

Also comes with a glass stand, is special for this TV as has a mount that raises the tv above the top base. Alternatively i believe you can take that off and also use the stand for other televisions. This stand is worth something like £200 if i remember correctly.

It has a small fault - slight bit of blue / purple discoloration at the bottom of the screen. It's noticeable on brighter pictures. Not so noticable on others. I've asked a couple of forum members on here what the problem could be, seems to point towards dust within the optics. I had a look at removing the bottom to clean it out with compressed air, but it looked far to confusing and i didn't want to break anything. So could be fixable with a person who is confident with things like that.

Tbh - it's not a huge problem, slightly annoying. The price reflects the fault to be honest. Check posts on post 1 to see.

£370 - for the TV and the stand - bargain. Although would consider a trade for a 42" HDTV. Open to offers.

Located: Burton Upon Trent

I'd love to keep it, but we have a 50" Plasma upstairs already and wife said it's to be for the guest room.

This is a HDTV - Does 720p or 1080i
- spritey

Has HDMI / PC Input / Component Input and all that gubbins.
- spritey

Due to it getting on my nerves..

£240 for the TV on it's own.

£320 with the glass stand.

Bargain
- spritey

To shift it.. I'll throw in an Xbox 360 + 1 Pad + 120GB HDD for an extra £70. Bargain :).
- spritey

This is just another spare prem i have - but i got a 120GB HDD for it. Willing to throw it in on top for £70 because i got another one coming back from microsoft anyway.
- spritey

If you buy the TV You get the Xbox 360 + 1 Pad + 120GB HDD for £70 on top.

If you buy the TV and the stand You get the Xbox 360 + 1 pad + 120GB HDD for £55 on top.
- spritey

Sod it last price drop before i try ebay.

If you buy the TV and the glass stand - You can have the Xbox 360 - 1 pad - 120GB HDD for £40. 360 is like brand new condition. Still in warrenty.
- spritey

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i'll clear up the pricing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Either

1) TV + Glass Stand + Xbox 360 with 120GB HDD = £380

or

2) TV + Xbox 360 with 120GB HDD = £310

Extra £70 is definitely worth it for the stand.

Basically what i've done is.. You buy the TV + Stand for £340 - i give you the Xbox 360 + 120GB HDD for £40 on top.

Or you buy the TV on it's own for £240 and i give you the Xbox 360 + 120GB HDD for £70 on top.

Was just a way to sell it really, more you bought. The better reduction you got on the 360.

Cheers ;). Aye is a great TV.. Price is very low even considering the fault as it has the stand. - Also if someone was able to fix it, they've managed to pick up a steal. I'd consider a trade for a 42" Plasma or LCD HDTV purely as i'd be able to fit that into the guest room.

I've got a HUGE bill to pay for my car next week, otherwise i'd have snapped this up.

Ah damn :) - hopefully somebody will.. Gonna be a bit of a pain finding a place for this when my new one turns up this week lol.

When ya gonna have more cash? ;)

My old tv used to have kind of the same problem as yours, turned out it was a speaker i had undereath the tv was causing it as i knocked it over one day and the bluey purple colous disappeared.

dunno if its the same problem with you tho, if you have put something new under there and it started happening or not.

anyhow good luck with the sale

nm , i see its not crt's (lol im old and forget there was newer types of rptv).

I would be very interested if it didn't have that small fault :( Have you got a quote for having it repaired?

Off-topic: What do you use to store all those dvd's? :)

Course you would :). If it hadn't got the fault, the price would be higher :P. The low price is due to the fault.

Not got a quote nope, as i said it what people seem to think the problems is.. As they've had similar problems with their ones and just opened up bottom area and used compressed air to get rid of it.

I was going to get a TV Engineer in to have a look - but decided to purchase a new 60" TV.

Also the DVDs are stored in DVD racks :)

Peter: Na isn't a electrical noise problem, cheers tho.

How old is it? There's a few people saying it becomes very hard to see/unclear after a few years of use and the bulb needs changing (£100-200)

I know they are dvd racks but I just wanted to know what make/model they were
#11
TV - 2-3 years.. Bulb was changed 3/4 months ago.. So it's still nice and bright - Will be for a very long time after the change.. I reckon over 2 years use until you see any dimming.

Also bulbs are range from £90-105 on ebay.

Remember - After a certain amount of usage Plasma and LCD Televisions brightness will halve. Which there is nowt you can do about.

Oh racks - just cheap ones from Tesco i purchased :)

Na either want cash or 42" HDTV. Thanks for the offer tho :)
#18
Just to let people know and bump..

Sony have contacted me today regarding the fault - seems to be some movement.. They are ringing me back today / tomorrow. Possibly gonna get the TV repaired for free. If that is the case, i may still sell the TV + Stand.. But be looking at around £500 without the fault. Which is still a very good price.

EDIT: Wouldn't fix it, altho keep being told to spray compressed air into the optical block area gently. So for anyone again knowledgeable in this, can try it out. Sony said they may offer a good will gesture to repair it, but would need to me pay a £75 engineer to look at it and give them an idea of the repair costs. I didnt wanna waste £75 incase they didn't - as im more interested in getting rid of it.

Damn nice tv mate. Does it have Component input btw?

Yerp component, composite, tv aerial, HDMI, PC input, Stereo Output - everything you'd expect from a HDTV bud :)

Hehe aye mate - it really is 'Priced to Move' - I don't really wanna sell it, i just don't have the room with another different 50" TV coming on Wednesday.

No doubt someone will snap this up for £240 - it's only a small bit of discoloration at the bottom - doesn't really bother me much. For the price, won't bother other people. Plus if someones brave enough to clear the optics with compressed air as people have told me to do on this - then they may be able to sort it out.
#22
Cool. I'm interested mate, what is the quality like on a Playstation 3?
How*heavy*is the actual tv aswell? Also how heavy is the glass stand?

Looks fantastic on PS3 or Xbox 360.

The TV is very light.

The stand is heavy as it's solid glass and the proper stand you get with the TV - isn't some cheaper version you'd buy from argos or something. It's almost indestructible lol. They were £200 odd new.

Well im definitely interested, i'm going to see if i can get the cash together and let you know

Anytime after Thursday. During the day my wife is in, evening i am. So really upto you.

Not really possible for delivery. It’s a 50” TV.. I would have to find a box. Although it’s not to heavy.

Only way i’d deliver is if you could organize a courier and then i wouldn’t accept any liability for it breaking during transport with a courier. As they don’t often offer insurance for TV’s.

Although this isn’t as delicate as a plasma TV so you should be ok.

But as said – courier would have to be organized by you.

Otherwise no possibility.

So the new pricing is £240 for the TV and then £70 on top for the 360?. So £310 in total.Or £380 in total if you want the glass stand aswell?

Thats a god damn bargain, going to go hunt for more money!!

Yerp, £310 without the class stand with the TV and 360 - or £380 with the glass stand. Figured it would help move it more quickly.

Let me know when you get the cash together asap, im hoping this gets tonight as i think at that price there be some more offers.

Considering ya willing to take a bit extra (how much?) I could take part payment over a month or something. (EDIT? Is that allowed on here? ie: offering a bit more over asking if terms are diff i dunno?)

So pay some now - rest in a month. Can take it away on the first payment - quite happy to do that because of ya feedback etc.

Aye is a good deal, just annoying that its taking so much room,.
