I got one of these for my dad last week when they were on here offer here:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/316770/hp-pavilion-artist-edition-dv2899ea/

He doesn't seem to be getting on with it very well and has decided to stick with his old Vaio.

Seeing as it is only a week old he would like to recouperate the money he spent for it £500 plus any postage involved.

I will leave it here until tonight, after which I will put it on Ebay. Just thought somebody else should get the oppurtunity to have one as the offer now seems to have expired.

Don't think that's possible as it's been opened and used, albeit for a week. Cheers though:thumbsup:

No worries, it is a decent spec laptop for the price - just would save ebay fees etc. Can't really go higher cash wise as new road tax band kicks in for car next month :x . Have PSP & various other things I could add but as it's for your Dad I guess you are just after cash :)

just send it back? This is why 28day satisfaction garuntee's were created. Send it back and get a complete refund? IT doesn't matter that its been opened and used. If they are fussy use the restore discs and get it back to normal and then box it back up.

The online help service is not available at the moment so I can't organise the return straight away. Will try again later and will return if nobody wants to take at asking.

Thanks for your help mate and also Dellboy182  Sorry I doubted you mate :whistling:

Sorry I was enjoying my new HOTDEAL so much that I couldn't get back to you sooner about it!!!

Anyway here goes:
Performance: Start-up = 60seconds. Shut-down = 25seconds.
Full battery charge = 2hrs.
Full battery discharge = 2hrs 20min under moderate use, 3hrs 15min under light use.
Recovery Disc Creation = 1 Hr. (15 of CDs, or 3 of DVDs.)

The battery is ever so slightly loose but it is just a little irritation when you hold the Lap in your hands because the compartment has a little movement. Not a problem because it is secure.

The screen is very nice although not the sharpest around but it is externally well protected by the case.

The HDMI is in a good position and the pictures on a very large monitor were a joy!

The touch pad is extremely sensitive so much that you can't hover a finger at 1mm without activating it! The two buttons below it are extremely light too and have longer travel than others I've used. Still, , these are not problems at all because I have already re-adjusted to them and maybe finding my heavy hands getting lighter on the touch too!!

Keyboard is great but again the buttons resistance is light. The media touch controls are very good and work with all media players so far!

The Logo stickers (LightScribe, Centrino, Nvidia, Vista, Energy Star) pasted all over one corner look awful when viewed alone in an image but look at the whole Laptop and it's not bad at all - I think I would miss the the 'showing-off' aspect of them when glance and say "You've got a lightscribe!")

The supplied Lap-bag is very good for "FREE" I even use it daily to college without a hitch. I cant say if it is water-proof but I wouldn't trust the canvas with my £1000 Lappy!!! (shhhh...dont tell anyone I got it for half!)

The remote works but it is such a rip-off!!! Like the rest of the Laptop Media Remote Controls, it replaces your good sized telly remote when enjoying media but it is not enjoyable to use at all. The Laptop PC and Desktop PC have largely replaced stand alone media units but the remote is larging wa-aaaaaaay behind! Shame on you, all PC manufacturers! Still, am sure those sleeping dogs will wake up one day and start making fully functional remote controls - we dont need to stick them in the PC slot when mobile but we DO need to enjoy controlling all functions of media ENTERTAINMENT when watching on big screen TVs at home. (And thats my rant for the day!)
