I have a ICYBOX dual 3.5" SATA HDD Enclosure boxed and in excellent condition, it comes with power lead & USB lead but no backup software (not necessarly needed but you should be able to download it)

This is a hotswap type enclosure and all you do is open the little door and slide the HDD in/out. I used this (along with a USB router) as a NAS box but I now have built a server so I no longer need this. This does not include and HDD's

I am looking for £30 via BT or paypal(gift)

I have included a link to the product in post 1 for more info

Will it take 2 x 1TB drives sparky?

p.s. will look at the lappy situation today and get back to you. Might see if Dell will talk to me about it even though it is out of warranty.

Thanks - sorry, re the lappy - I was confusing you and scribbles! In fact, just worked out that I confused him for you in that thread as well. Don't know why, but seems like I had both you in my head as the same person. Doh! At least I now know the problem so it won't happen again!!!

The website info actually says it can take any sized SATA 1 or 2 HDD :)

Ok, interested then. Can you explain how you set it up as NAS? Thanks

Hi,
Also interested in this, how quiet is the fan?

Well I used a Router (Netgear WG834T) that had a USB port which made it accessable to everyone on my network (& outside when configured) however I no longer have the router.

The ICYBOX has an adjustable fan so it can be left on and not get hot :)

It has 3 settings, OFF (very quiet, lol) LOW (I used this setting mostly which was fairly quiet) & HIGH (I used this when transfering lots of files, bit louder but not really that noticeable)

Well, I'll assume that it will also work on my BT Homehub 2.0 then as it has a USB port. How old is it, do you have the receipt for warranty and will you accept £26.50 sparky?
#11
EDIT: Youve already got a higher offer :(

Its about a year old but I dont have the receipt (lucky to still have the box, lol) £26.50??? Strange amount to offer, lol Ideally I want to clear £25 after P&P, I will have to weigh it and find out exact postage cost before I can commit / counter offer :)

What's strange about it? They don't have 50 pence coins where you live or something? :p

Ok, lmk

I'm guessing the answer is no, but can you confirm whether it has a Firewire port on the back?

OK I have looked at prices and the cheapest is by standard parcels and that will cost £4.20 so Ideally I would want £29.20 however seeing as its you Liddle I shall offer it to you for £28 :) (half way....ish)
