Not trying to thread spoil, but looks like you've picked the wrong time to sell - Apple have got a limited offer on iMacs at the online refurb store.

A 20" iMac 2.4Ghz with slightly smaller Hard Disk (320Gb) is currently £779 and a 20" 2.0Ghz, 250Gb HD is just £659. Appreciate yours has got 3 year Applecare included though.

So you are right :)

Ok, Well for the same price I will upgrade the ram fro,m 1GB to 4GB Crucial memory which comes with a lifetime warranty too, for anyone who is interested.
#3
I'm interested with the 4GB Crucial upgrade.
Where are you based and could it be picked up?
#4
Hi mate.

I'm in Essex and collection is possible, or I can post via next day fully insured delivery.
#5
Where as I'm in Dalston near Hackney and thinking of coming and having a look if poss?
#6
Yep thats ok.

Taking to PM to arrange details.
#7
Back up for sale.
#8
You will probably have to lower your prices since apparently there are refreshed models being released soon
#9
Well that was helpful :sigh:

I am sure that if there are new models coming out I will look at my price. Until then what I am offering is still £300 cheaper than retail, so unless Apple change the processor, hard drive sizes and of course include more than 4GB of memory in their new machines for £875 inc vat delivered (which will simply not happen) , I doubt very much that what will come in the "refreshed" machines will get anywhere close to what I have for sale here.

Any more pearls of wisdom for me?

Where has this come from?

no evidence of this on the Apple Rumors sites at all, laptops have just been refreshed, think it will be a while before they touch imac's

Point taken. I do not wish to spoil your thread so will not elaborate any further. Your deal is excellent compared to the current range. Good luck in your sale.

Thanks Boothy. I really don't want to get rid of it but don't have the space on my desk to have the iMac, my 360 and a second monitor for the Xbox so am looking at downgrading to a Mac Mini and a screen that will handle the Apple and my 360 at the same time.

I do not wish to spoil your thread so will not elaborate any further.

There is nothing to elaborate on as there is nothing confirmed. All you are doing is speculating and thread spoiling. Yes it may be the case that the Imac's get revised but we are talking about a move to the .45 tech processors and a .2 or .3 ghz increase at most. Apple may go to 2GB as standard with the memory but any more would leave them out of pocket as they make so much on their own branded ram. So all in all, the upgrade will be very little in all reality, if indeed an upgrade is actually coming. Due to the fact that the iMacs have been selling like hot cakes recently I cant see that happening any time soon. I do expect a total overhaul of the system though, but not for at least 12 - 18 months.

Yes the new Intel chips are out in the third quarter this year and even if Apple decide to use them in a new iMac revision, don't expect the price to change drastically if at all.

Anyway, back on topic.

£850 is the lowest I will go to for this machine delivered, which is an absolute steal IMHO.

Will also PX for a maxed out Mac Mini Core 2 Duo.

Simon,Dont know anything about consoles but I know there are some good deals on refurb cinema displays the last time I checked
#15
Cheers mate will take a look.

Ok, just ripped out the 4GB ram as I am putting it into a Mac Mini, so the spec as per the original post is what you are getting...

A Fully boxed as new Aluminum iMac with 20" Screen
2.4Ghz Core 2 Duo processor
1GB Ram (You can buy 4GB of memory to max this out from Crucial for £65 at the moment)
500GB Hard Drive
256MB Ati Radeon 2600 Pro graphics
Superdrive Dual Layer DVD Writer / CDRW / DVD Player.

Comes with both the official Tiger and Leopard install CD's

Also comes with either the wired aluminum keyboard & mouse or the wireless aluminum keyboard and mouse (your choice as I have both sets boxed as new)

You will also get the remainder of the Applecare that is on this machine giving you at least 2 years and 6 months direct warranty with Apple which includes collect and return warranty repair so no need to take it into a store if you live miles away from one (like me)

This spec (20" 2.4Ghx, 1Gb, 500GB, 256 ATi 2600 Pro) retails for £949
Upgrade to 500GB hard drive (the base model includes a 320GB hard drive) - £60
Add the Applecare at £139
Add the wireless keyboard & mouse (if you wanted them) £69

Total Retail Price as of now = £1200 +

I am after just £800 delivered, thats £400 CHEAPER than Apples current price AND the same price as the refurbished machines that were on their site (they have all gone now) ALTHOUGH they were of lesser specification and warranty length.

I will only take Bank Transfer on this as the Paypal fees will be around £40 (unless you want to pay them of course!) Delivery will be via fully insured next day delivery.
