FS: iPhone 3GS 16GB / WANTED: HTC Desire £320.00

I just got back from the Apple store. My previous iPhone developed a crack and under the terms of my warranty, I was entitled to a brand new replacement, which I now have in my possession. As it's brand new, there are no marks on the phone, and it's as you would expect if you were to order one from o2. I'll include the original box, headphones, charge cable and a belkin charger.

I'm looking to move to Android, so would like a HTC Desire, in more or less the same condition as my iPhone. It also must be unlocked or useable on the o2 network.

If a trade is agreed upon, I'm also looking for a 16GB microSD, to give the Desire the same capacity as the iPhone, so I'm asking for £20 in addition to the trade, or if you have a 16GB card, that included.

I'm also willing to take £320 for the phone. (Mods, I looked at the rules and am unclear if I am allowed to also have a price that a user can purchase at instead of trade, so if not, I will remove this.)

Pics will follow on the next post
Shipping/Payment:
Shipping will be via Royal Mail 1st class signed for, or any other service you would rather have.

Payment will preferably be via bank transfer, or paypal gift. I am happy to take half payment and half on your reception of the phone, as long as you have good feedback.

Personal collection is also fine by me.

Hi,

I have a HTC Desire wanting to trade for 3GS.

I only have an 8Gb MicroSD card, although I have two, one class 4 and one class 6, that I am willing to drop in even if you want a 16Gb card. I am willing to give you the £20 also to get the 16Gb.

The phone is unlocked so available on any network, and I am using currently on o2.

It does have one slight mark on the back of the phone but this is cosmetic and you wouldnt notice unless you were looking for it.

Pictures of the phone are here :

I have all the accessories and boxes etc. as well as an extra usb cable for charging.

I also bought a sleave for the Desire to keep it in good condition, which I got from Amazon.

HTC Desire "SUPER CASE" Black (L) Designer Carry Protector Pouch.

The phone should still have 10 months Warranty as well.

Would you be interested?

Hi WozzaX. Sounds like a good deal to me. Could you just tell me a tad more about that mark? Is it a dent/ding or is it a scuff?

Also is the screen in good condition? i.e. if you hold it under a bright light, can you see any little marks or anything?
#4
The mark is near the top of the back of the phone. Its a light scratch, which is the best description.

From the photos on photobucket you can see but as I say you really need to look for it.

It is near the camera lense cover but is not affecting pictures taken.

The screen is in mint condtition. No marks at all on the front.

I also have the receipt from purchase which will give you the warranty.

Just checked it now and its coming up to 9 months left not 10, at the end of this month.

Oh, right, sorry I thought the mark you were referring to was this:

Is that just a smear of some variety then?

Sorry about the third degree, I'm just quite an al with my gadgets :p
#7
I think that must be a smear as I am looking at the phone right now and i cannot see that.

I can upload another picture of the back of the phone now if you would like.

I can understand your questioning.

:)

I'm interested in purchasing this for £320 asking price, even more so prepared if willing to do half-now, half-later (provided exchange of full contact details and phone call). One question, how much warranty is left? Also, is it locked to O2 then? Any chance you can request an unlock if you're on O2 contract?

No, that's fine thanks. Just on the location quickly, it's not on the actual plastic(or glass) lens cover, or the silver bit around it, but on the grey backplate?

If so, that sounds like something I can deal with.
#10
Its on the lense silver and a bit on the glass but does not cross where the camera would be taking the pictures.

The whole back panel comes off including the silver and glass and could always be replaced easily.

HTC will be selling it but they dont have it available yet.

Here is the pic of it.

To be honest that silver bit and most of that glass are for decoration.

The part of it that you use as the camera is the smallest circle on that picture behind the glass cover.

If it affected anything at all I would be honest and tell you.

So no go for cash buy?
#13
If that's it, I think we've got a deal! If that's ok with you?

The only thing I'm a little worried about is feedback, i.e. you don't have any. I don't want to sound like an arse at all, but I'm sure you can understand I'd be a little worried about sending my phone off to someone without feedback. Conversely I can see how you'd be the same, since I don't have very much also.

I'm trying to think of a solution, can you think of anything?

Sorry buddy, I was after a quick trade, as I have no phone atm (I refuse to use the brand new one and devalue it this way).
#15
Well we need to swap details via PM anyway.

I can give you my home address, work address, work phone number, home number, mobile number etc.

I would be giving you my work email and not my gmail address.

I can bag everything up tonight and send tomorrow for you special delivery.

I would give you the tracking number as soon as that is done.

I can call you tomorrow from 8am onwards as that is what time I start work to discuss postage and security.

Also I would be transferring £20 to your account for the 16Gb card so you would have my details there as well.

I could make it £20.50, then you could transfer the 50p back so that would verify bank details etc.

Sound good?
