Locked to O2, bought from Apple Store.

Need the cash now due to unforeseen circumstances - save yourself a few quid if you were planning on buying one from Apple anyway!

Well it arrived today with the O2 sim but i've not opened anything yet, everything is sealed, is that the sim that comes with it? I'm assuming it comes with a years warranty, or whatevers standard. I have applecare taken out, but not sure I can sell that? Don't need it now though!

Then send it back! If you genuinely bought it within the last few days and it's still sealed then they will take it back and give a full refund.

I logged onto the Self Service option on the Apple site, followed the step by step guide, it shows the iphone and the value that they refund, and displays the price before VAT?

If you paid VAT then you'd be refunded VAT.

As it's a tax they have to pass onto HMRC, it's in their interest to return it to you. Otherwise it would screw up their VAT return and land them in hot water with the VAT man.

Cheers for the rep.

That refers to foreign nationals buying goods on holiday and wanted to get the VAT refunded. It does not apply to purchases that are returned.

Just confirmed it through the self service portal, it confirms right at the last part after submitting the return, that VAT will be refunded, so that clears that up then! :)

Thread closed. A ridiculous amount of bumps in this thread demoting other valid listings.

Consecutive postings count as bumps, dealing with non sales(this listing) related queries also deemed as bumps.

Do not relist this until 7 full days have elapsed.
