Thats a classic. !

No you need to take the picture infront of the TV with your name on the tv or near it so that piece of paper say at the bottom of the TV in the same position the TV is in.

I see that you have tried to do that. But not really showing the TV.

P.S the photies im guessing is so you don't time waste people.

its 50"! its hard to position the piece of paper so you can read my username and a decent view of the tv.

Immsie you done a decent shot above of the TV on its own. Just stick the piece of paper in front of it and do the same shot.

i dunno where you heard that but there is no problem with laying down a plasma. if you only have a small car, depending on where you live, you could come round, have a look at it and then i could take it to yours?

it should fit with the seat down. i could measure it for you and then you could see if it would fit in your car

Hi Guys - just a bit of a pointer for you. I got a 42 inch plasma ( it measured 42 inch from side to side ) in a 3 door 2007 Suzuki Swift - stood up behind the front seats. Put jumpers or foam in the rear footwells, and on the tunnel to make it a level platform.
The guy I got mine from also mentioned about not laying it flat - on its back is ok - but never on its front ( screen down )
Hope this helps.
#23
you cant lie a plasma down flat....it will completly ruin it,currys comet...wont let you take a plasma home until they see how your transporting it to make sure its upright, they dont want you coming back and saying its not working

as long as you drive carefully, it'll be fine. if you go revving it, hitting all the bumps really fast, yeh, it might get damaged(like most things).

nothing to do with bumps at all,........plasma tvs are filled with gas,if you lie them flat all the gas settles and most likely kill the tv,doesnt matter if you drive along a road of cotton wool the tv is still lying flat

well, like i said, when i got the telly it was driven back by my parents and there is no problems with it. so this is not true.
#31
plasma should be ok if not lay down for to long and left upright for a while before turning on

i have this tv, looks stunning just one sheet of glass no edges to it, the built in freeview is ok, but i have an upscaled dvd/ freeview and this is realy good pic as is the 360 both through the hdmi
#32
anyone else interested? hamm seems to be worried about laying it flat.
#33
will it display 1080p?

Yeah this is why, and the pressure of the gas on one pane of glass can cause it to crack as well, all DSGi (Currys, PC World), alongside Richersounds, Hi-Fix, etc, will not let you take the TV unless its transported upright.

Obviously its not guareenteed it will break, but its a possibility...dont know about you but i wouldnt risk a £500+ item on a whim...

So would i be...i transported a 42" from Birmingham to Coventry then from Coventry to London...all in the upright position.

Pixel Resolution : 1366 x 768

so it might downscale a 1080p image, but isnt 1080p only 720p

aww im confused now,

Which is best for a setup where i will be receiving terrestrial tv signals (no sky) watching blu rays/dvds and hooking up a PS3?
#37
1080p is better for viewing blu-ray, but only if the disc supports it. A lot of blu-rays only support 720p!
PS3 would be the same.
The quality would probably be quite noticeable on larger tv's.

Hope that helps
#38
I have 2x 1080p 50" Plasma TVs. One LG and one Samsung.

I've had a 50" 720p and 42" 720p TV before.

Yes, on a big 50" TV you can tell the difference between 720p and 1080p, there is a quality increase. But if i'm honest - i don't see all the fuss that some people make about 1080p.. I'm quite happy with a 700mb divx movie playing through my media centre pc - yes it's nice to watch some films on 1080p.. Matrix, Transformers.. But for 95% of things, it's not a big deal to me or most people.. Just big time videophiles.
#39
would consider dropping the price if anyone is interested?
#40
price has gone down to £490 now.
