FS - Lightweight Dell Laptop £149.00

Extremely lightweight and compact size Dell laptop
Screen size is just 14.1

The laptop weighs a little over 2kg (most laptops weigh closer to 3kg)

Compact small and portable, take it with you on the train, plane or wherever
The Dell D505 Latitude was targeted to business users and so is extremely light, robust, portable and has all the features associated with a powerful business laptop

(for those interested Latitude was dedicated to the business/mobile customers with inspiron and dimension being less expensive)

I have been using this laptop intermittently as a student completing a literature study class for mature students and for work purposes completing tax forms (so it is well suited for everyone)

The battery life is amazing and holds for well over 2.5 hours after a full charge

It has an extremely quick boot up time and is preinstalled with Windows XP (with the latest service pack and Office 2007 including Outlook, PowerPoint, Word and Excel). The processor is a Pentium M (super fast)

The laptop has a Next Business Day warranty, call before midday and a dell engineer will be with you the next day to fix it up! This doesnt expire until October 2009! So you are worry free for at least a year and more!

I am supplying the laptop, the case, the original packaging, the power adapter and battery and will be delivered to you promptly.

im sorry my friend i cant sell it as cheap as that

I paid £90.11 just to extend the warranty by two years and that was just in October!

whoever ends up buying it will really end up with a worry free laptop, still in International NBD warranty, and in pristine condition

i have to let it go cos my refurbishment costs have gone through the roof!!!

but i cant let it go that cheaply - sorry
#21

Ok, 30 miles - not too bad. I'll wait for an update about the HDD - did you upgrade the RAM yourself?

Ok, fair enough, but how come the dell website says this?:

Service Tag: J4X521J
System Type: Latitude D505
1 LATITUDE - 1.4GHZ - 20.00GB HD - 128.00M

Did you buy this machine direct from Dell? If so, any upgrades will have been done by yourself, right? You haven't really answered these questions yet and I'm wondering about the validity of the warranty if the service tag doesn't relate to the hardware..?

EDIT: signing off for football...
#34
the original spec was that but then it was upgraded with the Dell engineer onsite.

(please just a polite notice not to offend anyone - but i have given as much detail as is possible)

It feels almost like an interrogation !!!

I do not need to justify what, where, when or how i upgraded my machine since i purchased the fact remains that this laptop is of exact spec as in the original post.

It is covered with a dell warranty which Dell will verify.

everyone is free to visit and inspect the laptop prior to purchase for complete peace of mind!
#35
I live in Blackburn if that helps!

£125 max bid.
#36
I can pick up today adam!

£149 i really cant go lower

i wish i priced it at £169 that way i could have negotaited my way down!!!

but i thought it was best i put the lowest price to help fellow hotukdealers!

it really is a good buy for the money my friend!
#38
Its Rammy

Surely we can negotiate!

Rammy the price i set leaves little room for negotiation

think of it this way in the original post the buyer would have payed the special delivery cost which i factored in would have cost £14.99

£149 +£15 = £164

if you pick up it will cost you just £149 saving you the best part of £15 !!!

To be fair to people here it does matter when and how the laptop was upgraded, if Dell come out to the laptop and the laptop spec doesn't match what they have on record they will not replace any of the modified parts. If it's been upgraded by a Dell enginer through Dell themselves then as long as the paperwork is available it will prevent any issues with the warranty.

Good luck with the sale.

John
