As title, my copy is in mint condition, I wish to trade for the PS3 version as my XBox Live and Router are completely incompatible for Modern Warfare 2 unfortunately.

I would like a mint condition PS3 version.

Thanks.

Is your NAT strict? All you have to do is foward a few ports and then it will have the same effect as bieng open. If you need any help tell me what your problem is and I'll talk you through fixing it.

Router are completely incompatible, there's not such a thing!, just forward ports.

Wrong and wrong, I have already done that. Forwarded ports 53, 80, 88 and 3074, I've even command lined in to the router to edit the settings. The only way to connect to the "Thomson TG585v7 is to connect directly by LAN irritatingly, as the NAT settings are ridiculously tightly controlled.

hi,will you consider selling,so you can buy 1 on the ps3 instead ?
#5
don't know whether it will be worth trying this, my gf's router was setting my nat to strict so with the xbox on we disconnected the router (mains), waited 10 seconds reconnected it, than ran the nat test on the dashboard again, this solved the problem for us.

Yes. That would be fine with me.

Yeah tried that, as mentioned before I've used "telnet" to edit the settings in my router directly (from the command line rather than the graphical interface). It appears that the router I was supplied with is one of the most difficult to configurate in the world.

That was a different copy I'm afraid, but nice try. That was for a birthday present. The copy I own can be found on my AVForums account. (i think this must be the 4th copy of MW2 I've bought though, soon to be 5 when I get the PS3 version... again.)
I'll stick with the £16.80 I offered you :)

well i say again your router should work perfectly with xbox live, googling will tell you that even, but its ovious anyway that any router would work with live if set up correctly.

EDIT: looks like you just need the new firmware, as 1000's of live users use this router with no problem, all info here http://tigertelevision.blogspot.com/2010/02/thomson-tg585v7-modem-vs-xbox-live.html

Ah, I have the latest firmware! I didn't think to try and downgrade the firmware as the article you have linked to suggests, I'll try that tonight to see if I can remove the strict NAT settings.

This is the first article I've seen where someone has actually managed to get this router to work.

I went to ridiculous lengths to try and get my router to work, "telnet"-ing (Using the command line) has worked on all previous routers I've had, it's just been this one that seems to have been impossible to effectually change the settings, to know that it's to do with broken firmware and not my incompetence is a relief, thanks.
