This PVR set up box is purchased 2 weeks ago brand new un-opened. I have used it for a week then I built my Vista Media Center PC for HD play back, hence the sale.

This item is in immaculate condition and comes complete in its original box with:

The set up box
Remote + Batteries

This is a combo box which means you can receive Freeview (DVB-T) and FreeSat/Sattlelite (DVB-S) together. If you have a existing SKY dish then you can use the box to view FreeSat channels without subscription. The thing I like about this box is the ability to Rename Channels and arrange channels in to Favourite groups. I also like the RF out connector from the box that allowed me watching the Satellite pictures both from the living room and bedroom. (Bear in mind that this is analog so in the bedroom, the picture is not as clear as the original one.)

For adventurous people out there, there are forums and sites offering modified firmware for the box to allow viewing of other non-public channels. (http://www.sat-universe.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73 and http://www.gxmax.com/) In addition to this, there is a Smart Card reader and two CI slots for customization.

You can plug your USB hard drives into this box and record videos in .mvp format. There are tools for you to convert the file into MPEG file if you choose to view it in your computer. Unfortunately you can not schedule recording as per the SKY+ box. This is the main dissapointment I have with this box.

Maplins sells the non-freeview version for £69.99:

http://www.midsat.co.uk/digitalreceivers.html Sells the box for £129.

And I am looking for 55 pounds delivered - I will drop my price on Tuesday evening if no sale is made.

Among those, Freesat offers: http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=whatson.Main

You can also view freeview channels: http://www.freeview.co.uk/freeview/Channels
To answer ptdborth's question,

It does have a smart card reader to read SKY viewing cards, however I havn't tried any patch on this machine - it is only running the firmware that it comes with.

you might be find out more information at http://www.sat-universe.com/forumdisplay.php?f=73

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply. The maplins one is the one with Satellite only - FS-8085 USB: (website says DVB-T: N)
Mine is FS-8085 USB Combo

But I guess if you don't need freeview then it doesn't really matter if it is combo or not.

How about 45 Posted?
Has this been sold? I'll pay £45 delivered if not. PM me and let me know.

This PVR is still available and yes I will sell it at £45 pounds.

Will send you a PM now.
Payment received and parcel is sent via ParcelForce.
