Bring it back as faulty in about a week or so - they will definately take it back then (makes sure its a different store though!).

I took back a TV last week, as they had a better one on offer - told them it kept showing a black screen but sound was still coming out, they refunded no problem - I added the extra and got my LG 32" :-D.

I was in there today fighting with them for about a half hour over it. They are refusing to take it back so I would rather just take the hit on it and get some of my money back.

Most things we sell are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee, so just return them to us unused, in their original undamaged packaging, in a saleable condition, with your receipt and we’ll give you a refund.
If you don't have your receipt, as long as you have a proof of purchase* we'll exchange the item or give you a refund with vouchers.

If a product is excluded from our 30-day money-back guarantee, it is clearly marked by a † next to the product name in the catalogue and on this website.
Our 30-day money-back guarantee does not affect your statutory rights.

Cannot see why your having trouble ???

Returns and refundsWe're committed to selling high-quality products we hope you'll enjoy using but we also know that, for one reason or another, there may be a time when you need to exchange or return something you've bought. Please make sure that you check your items carefully before they are used or installed. We also recommend that you keep your receipt or order number, which can be found on your order confirmation or on the delivery packaging, as you might need it as proof of purchase in the event of any after-sales queries

If I change my mind...

Within 30 days

Most things we sell are covered by our 30-day money-back guarantee, so just return them to us unused, in their original undamaged packaging, in a saleable condition, with your receipt and we’ll give you a refund.
If you don't have your receipt, as long as you have a proof of purchase* we'll exchange the item or give you a refund with vouchers.
If you'd like to return something we've delivered, just call us on 08456 400 800 and we'll collect it for free. Your order number will count as your receipt.
We're sorry but some items like earrings, foot spas and dental products can't be exchanged or refunded for hygiene and safety reasons, unless they're faulty.
To protect your personal security, we are also unable to accept returns on some non-faulty imaging and recording products such as MP3 players and digital cameras.
Please note all video games consoles are excluded from the Argos 30 day money back guarantee. Please ensure you read the specification on the box before installation. We also cannot accept back video gaming software under our 30 day money back guarantee if the plastic wrapping has been unsealed – this does not affect your statutory rights.
If a product is excluded from our 30-day money-back guarantee, it is clearly marked by a † next to the product name in the catalogue and on this website.

If there's a fault with the product...

We've made it easier!

If you bring it back to us within 30 days with your proof of purchase*, we'll give you a
replacement or a refund.
If you've had the product for up to 1 year, we'll repair the product or, if that's not possible, give you a replacement or, if that's not possible, a refund.
Please note that all large kitchen appliances are excluded from our normal 30 day guarantee, but if your item develops a fault within 30 days, call us on 0845 640 0800 and one of our advisors will assist you with your problem. If faulty and if it cannot be repaired we will arrange a replacement free of charge or you can opt for a refund.
This does not affect your statutory rights.
You should show them a copy of this.

I've NEVER had a problem returning ANYTHING to Argos (other than Earrings, for obvious reasons lol):p
#10
Curiouser and curiouser. :?

argos refund items at the drop of a hat i have done it countless times from it being the wrong colour to my mum fancying something else

take it back and demand a refund could even try a different store

but if you are set of selling it on here the norm seems to be photos with your user-name on a bit of paper & proof of purchase with personal details removed is always helpful
#12
Was it one that you get free from Sunalliance when you take a life insurance policy out?
as you get a voucher to take to Argos for a 16inch TV.

Honestly guys they wont take it back.

Why would I take a £40 hit on it without postage costs if I could get my money back?
#14
Have you mentioned this to Argos customer services and stated their own terms and conditions that this item is not excluded from thier 30 day returns and that the store manager is refusing to honour this.
#15
can you post pics of reciept

Sorry but i cannot believe you bought a tv only yesterday and are willing to sell for £40 less when you have a receipt and under argos t&c what you seem to have ignored you can get the full amount back and buy the one you wanted sorry again but its very strange :?
#22
Did they tell you why they wouldn't take it back? I would get great satisfaction on arguing the toss and proving them wrong! and i certainly wouldn't forfeit £40 for their great big error, and i would write to head office complaining.

I know that's why I was fuming today when they wouldn't take it back, the reason I'm wiling to take a £40 hit is because the price is over inflated and I would never get it sold for that on here.

#25

If it's faulty they are oblidged to take it back and provide you with a refund! Just take it to another store and tell them it's buzzing or somethings 9 times out of 10 they won't check it & just ask youif you would like a new one or your money back!

Argos not taking a faulty item back is the 1st I've heard!!!
#27
What seems to be the problem with all these scam accusations

he has stated he will post first with receipt to respected members????

how can that be a scam

Utter rubbish, if it's still sealed it wouldn't be an issue, if it was faulty you still would be entitled to a refund.

i am interested in this.
1st though please provide some pics of actual item and receipt.

Whoever buys this is only gonna take it back to Argos themselves and make some quick cash. Ring up customer services and tell them to get their act together.
