Are you up for a trade?

I've read my item description again and I can't find where it says 'I am stupid, please take advantage of me'. You and others like you are what occasionally drags this excellent site down.

No thank you.

As a noob with no feedback, it is standard practice to send first to trusted members. hth

Although I have no feedback here I do have plenty with eBay which anyone can check. I am actually quite surprised that you are defending what is a quite ridiculous 'offer' by failing to make any reference to it.

Not ridiculous in the slightest. Users with no feedback posting 1st to trusted members is quite a common practice on here

I can't really comment on marke1's offer, i'm just saying that it is accepted on here that feedback rules. Even a single first sale counts volumes for your cred on here. The few scammers spoil it for the majority of good sellers i'm afraid, so (while it is completely your choice) it is not unheard of to send first to any buyer who has proven to be trustworthy in the past.
I've sent first in the past, and had sent to me first too, just use some common sense by looking at the buyer's feedback and past history and you shouldn't get burned. Just offering some advice is all

To amibees - Done as requested.

To marke1 - Why would I have to 'thank you' for your offer when you are clearly taking the mick?
And as for the smiley - grow up, they're for kids.

Hows he taking the mick?

I'll do the 'numbers for you'. I've asked for £115 cash - not an unreasonable amount considering how much these things cost.
He has offered £110 including postage so deduct £10 for postage and £5 for paypal ( I'm assuming that's correct ) and now I'm down to £95. So he is 'taking the mick' because I'm expected to forfeit £15 + £5, for the shortfall on his offer, just so he gets it at a bargain price. If this then isn't 'taking the mick' and is in fact a fair offer then why does he not use this strategy in a high street store ..... that's right because he would be laughed at.
If you are going to criticise me then fair enough but at least think it through first.

Fair enough re: the gift option ( I genuinely wasn't aware of it ) but I've checked about the postage and the cheapest I can see is with parcels2go and it's just over £9. Please inform me as to where I can safely and securely post this for £4 as it would make a difference.

Do please enlighten me as to how this is the case. I've made it quite clear what I am expecting and the price I am asking is in no way unreasonable and is in fact a bit of bargain relative to the 'shop price'. Now if I feel that someone is trying to take advantage then I am entitled to express my view as to why I feel this. I don't feel I have been overly rude unless you count the smileys comment but then I still stand by that one.

all of the above would be classed to most on here as not the sort of attitude that we would expect from someone new to the site selling high value goods,it is the norm on here for offers to be made lower than the asking price and to be asked to post items first, going off on one just gets peoples backs up and puts people off dealing with you.

Thats my advice to you, your call if you chose to accept it or not

I agree with most of the comments here. I personally would not buy from yourself with an item of such high price with you having very little posts and no feedback. Ebay means nothing on here at the moment, anyone can give any ebay name and I know there have been a number of people on here still scammed with people 'verifying' threw ebay.

While I am in no way implying that you are a scammer, I think it would help if you decided to post 1st to people with good high feedback ( or even a half now, half when they reicieve the item ? ) could be an idea. Many people on here have done it and it does help.

I thought Marke1's offer was a fairly good offer since it was only £5 off your asking price. Almost everyone on here will knock off money off the asking price regardless of it is a bargain compared to shop prices or not, this site is about finding a bargain and people like to haggle and negotiate a sale, getting a few £1's off makes us feel like we have got a good deal!

I hope you do get a sale, it is a good price and I hope you can take some views into consideration too :)

p.s I like smileys! ;-)

Getting a bargain is fair comment and I am fully aware that it is this sites 'modus operandi' but I am already offering the item at what is a bargain price ( RRP 149.99 - my price £115 = approx 24% reduction - this would constitute a 'good deal' in most people's eyes ). As for the feedback well there is not much I can do about that but that was the main reason why I requested that the item be collected. In that way the person 'buying' the item could then actually see that they were buying a genuine item and not being scammed. Personally, I accept the need to weed out scammers and their ilk but that doesn't then justify people trying to exploit ( a strong word but I could not think of a better one ) a deal. Like I said in an earlier post, the guy would not try that in a shop because of the embarrasment factor and yet he is happy to do it behind the anonymity of the internet. Two wrongs don't necessarily make a right but I still feel that I am justified in standing my ground regarding my initial price for this item.
p.s. re: smileys - each to their own but they are not for me, apologies for any offence to those that like them!
