It is the same model, check with Panasonic! The more expensive TX26LXD70 can be bought for under £500!!

how can it be the same model with different contrast ratio, unless you can compare the exact same model number then your not helping.

also im not selling the lxd so that doesnt mean much to me.

im selling the TX26LMD70A

There is no difference in the models other than one was manufactured sooner than the other (retailers are known to put incorrect details on their websites!). You do know that there are different types of Ratio used, Dynamic and Contrast...

This is a response from Panasonic:

In response I would explain that the A suffix indicates to our factory that the unit was more recently manufactured. There is no difference in the model.

I trust that the above information will be of assistance to you. However, if you should have any further queries, you may contact us by telephone on 0844 844 3852

Kind regards

exactly, at the end of the day, unless the model number matches on a site your trying to compare too then its not the same

Why would I do that?

If you look at the Panasonic website http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/397725/index.html the model number is shown and does not have the any suffix. If you really don't trust me call Panasonic!

Not true as Sony use 'U' suffix to denote UK models but not all sites put this on the model number but they do sell 'UK' spec sets, check out the Sony UK website as an example! I have a 32W4000U purchased from John Lewis but is shows as a 32W4000 on their website, are you saying they sold me a different set?

You'll find sets from Samsung are the one's too watch as they provide retailers with different model numbers which makes it difficult for them to be price matched.

By the way, good luck with selling your set, you must be upset getting shot of it as it's not a bad TV.

Umm just saw this and like others went "how much", if you get that well done, I would suggest no joy here go to ebay

Sorry to step in guys but just my 2 cents worth. I have this tv and tbh what both of you are argueing about... well in some ways youre both correct. Realistically the 70 and 70A are the same model. BUT Panny did change a little bit of the cosmetics on the 70A which i think is nicer. I got mine when Asda were selling off their stock for £350 a few months back. They had 3 diff models numbers for what looked to be the same tv - the 7, the 70 and the 70A . Anyway i looked at them all outta the box and the 7 and the 70 had a more squared finish to the bottom speaker housing, whereas the 70A had a smoother more rounded look. Aside from that the specs are exactly the same. Yes the 70A is manifactured at a newer date and to me looks nicer, which is why i got that model... but realistically they are the same TV in every other way.

Hope this helps :-)
