I have to assume you want me to post the PS3 first as you don't trust me to send it once you have paid out the money. For this reason I suggested PP as you have the ability to get your money back.

Please don't be offended by this.

That's not true as I've bought many a Items on Forums & got refund with no problems from paypal.
Paypal take a Fee for Transactions on there Site for PPgoods & so they have to also follow there own T&C's.

Thank you for trying to help, I am aware that MOD policy and rules prevent chit chit and thread spoiling so worried by giving a response I'm likely to have the thread locked.

I was trying to offer a potential buyer the item with security. If this is not achievable, and I don't have any feed back on here to offer the security, then I am unsure as to what I can do to sell on this forum. There is a link on the original post to my Ebay feed back if any use to anyone.

As stated £170 BT, PP or collection I don't mind, the postage I will arrange with the buyer but intend to send First class recorded with tracking number.

I highly advise that you send this Royal Mail Special Delivery, or through a courier with added insurance for an item this expensive. If the item was to get lost/damaged through first class recorded, then the best you could hope for back is £35.

I would strongly advise not to use the Recorded (Signed For) Delivery service for an item of this value.

Should it not be delivered, or be damaged in transit, the maximum amount of compensation you can claim is "100 times the value of a first class stamp".

I would suggest that you quote postal costs based on the usage of an insured method of delivery that will cater for an item of this value.

This aside, I can see that all interested parties are worried about your trading history.

Would it be an option to take half of the money before you despatch & when the item has been safely delivered the buyer will then send you the outstanding balance of the payment?

BFN,

fp.

I don't think this query was addressed.

The Limited Edition 160Gb PS3 console (available from 31 October 2008) was issued with a set of redeemable voucher codes for use on the PlayStation Store/Network & a DUALSHOCK(r)3 (wireless) controller.

There was a choice of titles such as "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue", "Super Stardust HD", "Ratchet & Clank: Quest for Booty", "The Last Guy", "Warhawk", & others than were only available in European markets outside of the UK.

The codes had an expiry date of 31 October 2009, but another member ("southwell65") confirmed on 24 February 2010 that the codes could still be used.

PS[3]: A previous HotUKDeals thread that may assist you for further information on this model:

What happened to the 160GB PS3? (other threads on the 160Gb model exist if you search for them, including a recent one "160GB PS3 for £30 When you trade in a 40GB or 80GB model @ GameStop").

Yes, I appreciate that.

To aid your sale did you consider my suggestion that you could accept half of the payment first & the remainder upon delivery to the buyer (with an established longevity/feedback at HotUKDeals.com)?

CEX are offering £145 cash for these at the moment, I wanted to cut the middle man in the deal so offering it direct. at a decent price (IMO). I have no come back if someone doesn't pay the balance do I? Hope I didn't offend with my response in previous post.

No, your response was fine.

I hope you can equally see that £170 is a lot of money for anybody to lose as well, as an interested party will also be considering the "come back" if you fail to despatch or the console is faulty.

Unless you can offer local collection then I think you are probably going to struggle to sell your console; I was just trying to find an approach that would help you gain a sale.

Anyway, I have contributed enough & 'bumped' your thread enough, so I will leave the negotiations between you & potential buyers.

Good luck.

BFN,

fp.
