My PS3 has just broke, and customer services want my to pay £130 to get it repaired as I cant find my receipt. The console was bought early last year, as a birthday present, it has worked flawlessly till now.
The console turns on then it flashes yellow to green and then back to red, It might be an easy fix for someone but I dont have the time and im going to buy a new one.
It comes complete with all cables, box, hdmi cable and ps3 bluray remote. It does not come with a controller, but the bluray remote can be used instead.
I will send recorded special delivery, and accept payment via paypal or bank transfer. I will also allow pickup from wf5 0aq

Seems over priced for a broken PS3 with no controller I'd expect to get a working 40 Gb for that price.

Whats lowest you'd accept? Is this a YLOD or a different fault
I'm open to offers, it's not the YLOD fault as it has a red light. Just need finds to help buy a new one.
Has the console been registered with sony? Do you have a reciept? How come sony want £130 to repair when it should be covered from the 12 month waranty
It is still under warrenty but I don't know where it was bought from as it wasn't bought by me. Sony want a reciept from me which I don't have, before they will warrent the warrenty. I will lower the asking, as I'm open to offers. I think the console has been registered as it has a playstation account on it.
isnt it still under warranty if you bought it 'early last year'

either way, pursue Sony for a repair under the sale of goods act as not fit for purpose. Just over 12 months since new is not acceptable!
The Sale of Goods Act does not apply to Sony as the OP does not have a contract with them. The SOGA applies between buyer and seller; it does not bind the manufacturer. If he wants to use the SOGA he needs to find out where the console was purchased from. If he wants to exercise the manufacturer's warranty from Sony he will need something to show when the console was purchased.
Thanks, and as I don't I've the reciept I'm screwed. I've reduced asking price to £100
why not just ask the buyer if they have the receipt / retailer purchase info?

I;m confused when you say it is 2.5 years old yet you say you bought it new early last year.....
On the other hand it's funny how sony treats their customers, I just hope my ps3 dosen't break since I have no receipt either, my xbox360 has broken once and I didn't have receipt and still got it fixed with a new controller in 10 days or so...

Was the Xbox 360 the RROD though?

Can't understand the complaint about Sony either way though. You're effectively criticising them for you not keeping your own receipt. It is an expensive piece of technology; keeping your receipt is common sense.
Yeah that's what I'm saying. The console has been out 2 1/2 years mine was bought last year, people can you offer me a price. I need to sell this, argh, I want a new one.
I will offer £60 delivered as you are not including a controller. I can fix this but its a pain in the bum to be honest!
Could you offer £70 delivered.
your feedback doesnt look good for selling this, buyer would in my opinion be looking for you to post first
If you look at my feedback you will see it's only 2 negatives as the third was a positive and a mistake. I have sold a few other things worth a lot more than this, just havent recieved feeback. I'm trutworthy and will provide email, telephone mobile number, home phone and address to the buyer.
Could you offer £70 delivered.

I will stick at £60 due to the work involved and the lack of controller!

I don't mind paying first, feedback is not that bad when you consider 1 of negatives is obviously meant to be a positive!
Soft-modded wii's are also not that reliable if you are not sure what you are doing!
Thankyou, I might be able to increase the hard drive as I have a 120gb lying somewhere. It's a deal then shall we move to pm
Where are the mods? Sale has been agreed yet people are giving slander to the OP when not involved in the sale? (My post included) too much thread crapping!

who has slandered the OP
bump 1
Still open to offers, while norfolk_enchance mulls things over.
If you can increase the hard drive, would you be willing to accept £60?
If i increase the hard drive, which i could do as i have an external i don't need any more I would be looking for 75 quid delivered as its a 120GB it might be larger, im not sure as ive been using for a wii.
How about we meet in the middle and I collect this weekend?

Sounds fair, any chance you could come and get it earlier, as im desperately in need of the money, as I have just spent money on a new ps3, which I didn't really have lol.
lol - I actually live down south near Reading but travel up to Wakefield most weekends.

How about I pay for the item on Thursday (either BT or PP) and then pick it up from you when I get there this weekend?

If that is okay, shall we move to PM?

yeah that is great, bank transfer would be the best, move to pm.
PM received and replied.

Will be all done and dusted by the end of this week
