Purchasing via mail order & purchasing in person are two different activities each with their own regulations enforceable by law.
If you bought by mail order you can just refuse to take the goods under the Distance Selling Regulations (without giving a reason why) as you have not had sight of them prior to purchase.
You have a seven day "cooling off" period in which to return them (that commences the day after delivery). This is applicable to both new & second-hand goods. You are entitled to a full refund (excluding your own costs in returning them to the retailer).
I have commented on the Sale of Goods Act 1979 & Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 in a previous thread:

An individual high street retailer, or mail order merchant, may operate their own respective policy that offers a longer duration for refund/exchange, or better consume protection, than the legal minimum.
If in any doubt, enquire on an exchange policy at the point of sale.
Just for the sake of completeness, a high street retailer is not required (by law) to refund your payment if returning an unwanted item. If there is a fault with it, the retailer is quite within their rights to exchange for a similar item. If a refund is requested, that will be at the discretion of their own policies, the Store Manager you speak to, or the original conditions of the sale. If you insist on returning the item, you will only be entitled to a credit note at the same retailer. There is no obligation to refund any, or all, of the original purchase price at all.
If an item is not fit for purpose (such as is not as described) then a refund can be expected (& must be given if requested).
If you are considering splitting, I may be interested in both the 8GB memory stick &/or the "FIFA Football" title depending on your expectations on price & the condition of the items.

fp.

Did you buy "FIFA Football" new from a retailer?

No, although it's in new condition, so it would be the same as buying new, makes no odds whether i bought it preowned or not, it can still be passed as new, you wouldn't be losing any features etc when bought preowne

No you didn't say that. Hence, why I asked.
I do not wish to buy something that has passed through two parties already, thank you.
Good luck with your sale.
