The SL-1210M5G Grand Master Direct Drive Turntable offers even more features then the standard-setting SL-1200MK2 or the newly introduced SL-1200MK5. Technologically advanced tonearm modifications virtually eliminate skipping making it awesome for scratching, and now you can customize braking speeds to suit your applications. My advice, stick them on eBay seperately...

Doesn't seem like anyone is up for a full setup, unless it's a beginners lot (which that isn't).

I had to stick mine on seperately, but I stuck them at Buy It Now or Best Offer and all but one went for asking price...
yeah might be the best option...any advice on what prices i should put
The mk5s can be bought new for £345 but you may actually get as much on ebay - some people prefer using it to shops it seems (madness in my opinion but thats a different matter altogether). They seem to go for typically £550 a pair on ebay at the moment... I'd probably try to sell them as a pair (do they have warranty, boxes, lids etc?). The carts should really be sold with the decks as they are 2nd hand. Make the posting really clear and point out all the good points - decent carts, boxes, warranties, reciepts etc, to make the listing stand out.

Sell the headphones/record box/mixer seperately (maybe with 1/2 value reserves).

The records its worth looking to see what is actually rare/highly collectable (check places like ebay past listings, htfr etc) then sell them individually, and perhaps batch up the others into the genre and sell as bundles (with a few decent tunes in each you'll hopefully get at least £2/record back). They will be the hardest thing to sell and require the most effort but if you do it well you'll shift them, make decent returns and also get good ebay feedback.
thanks jah, if they were mine thats what id do. however he just wants to sell them as the lot , maybe sell the decs together with the extra bits. the headphones, mixer etc seperate, and the records as a lot witht he aluminium case....

as a set...how much you think its worth..???
Put it this way, I had Technics 1210 MKII on for £250 BIN or BO and one went for £250, other for £200...

I'd suggest looking for the cheapest Buy It Now for them on eBay and undercut it slightly... can't go wrong for when people search a BIN and choose Lowest Price 1st.

If you knock roughly a 3rd of the RRP, you usually won't go wrong (so long as they are in good condition).

I got over £1250 for my setup sold seperately and I was offering them for less on here, so was a lot better in the long run on eBay.
Mk 5's definately worth a few ££'s more than Mk.2s remember and so I wouldn't accept under £500 for the pair (one of the best things about Technics is their resale value because they literally last decades. My Mk2s are early nineties and still work a dream). The records are the hard part - some will likely/hopefully still be worth at least £5, but you/your bro will have to put in a bit of time/research to find out which records will go for that amoumt. It really is worth working out which ones are the classics and valuable if you want to recoup most of what you paid. Most will be best sold as part of a bundle but make it genre specific (a specific genre as a set will make more per record). Doubt a massive bundle would get that much (unless you listed all the classics at the top of the listing, but even then you'ld probably be better splitting).

Just BTW don't want to spoil this thread at all in case anyone is interested, these really are excellent, excellent record decks and if house is your thing this could be an amazing setup.
thanks to both of you sooo much. thing is i live carlisle and he lives newcastle so its a pain. best thing would prob me give him some money and me sell them and keep the profits..cos hes a bit lazy, he just want to sell the lot together lol if it were me id sit and seperate everything. just worried i wont get the amount he is wanting if i sell on ebay seperate. you know what i mean? just wish there was someone local either here or there cos i wouldnt mind driving over for them etc. you not know anyone that maybe interested? even to sell them on for profit maybe? he might take a bit less if someone wants em like....if not ill have to arrange something with him...maybe buy the records off him myself..but no guarentee on the sales is all..lol....i dont have a turn table lol
