is there anything better about the 60gb PS3? I saw a 80gb PS3on Play.com for £299. Surely the more room, the better it would be?

60gb has backward compatibility and extra usb ports and memory card slotes!
#3
so if i get a PS3 that is not a 60GB, I can't play PS2 games?
#4
thats right only the 60gb one plays the ps2 games

Or you can buy it direct from CEX with your own 12 month warranty for £360.00 inc delivery and no credit card fees

Not trying to thread spoil, as I'm genuinely interested - do 60gb PS3's really sell for £350 with no games??!!!

I've seen a few people on here recently that have struggled to sell their 40gb PS3s (with no games) for £200 - is someone honestly going to pay £150 more just for backwards compatibility?

to avoid confusion all can play PS1 game (my 40GB certainly can) - its PS2 support thats missing

best bet for this would be ebay possibly! you get around about £350 there with no games! i am selling mine on there at the moment with 2 games and a dualshock and a six axis controller with hdmi cable and its at just under 400

Especially when you can buy a slim PS2 for around £40

Some people are weird!

Not on here they don't. Couldnt get £290 for mine on here and that was with a headset, a DS3 and Buzzers and buzz the big quiz.

but a PS2 doesnt upscale ps2 games like a ps3 does. the card readers are very handy as are the extra usb slots.

Well a usb hub can be purchased for around a fiver and a card reader not a lot more.

Agree that it doesn't upscale, but is it worth spending more money on an older machine for playing the occasional old PS2 game upscaled. And if you don't have a HD TV, you won't notice upscaling anyway.

fine if you dont mind lots of cables stuck out the front. plus another extra ps2 box, a card reader.

i'd rather just pay the extra £100 if I wanted the extra functionality

the price here is way ott. Like I say, I wanted £290 for mine with extras but no interest at all.
