Having a bit of a clear out today :-)

Due to much less than activity I thought it was going to get, I am selling my purpose-built media center which is capable of playing blu-ray etc via hdmi. I am still using my Xbox. The MC is in excellent condition (9/10 - only a few minor cosmetic scratches on the casing ) and comes from a pet and smoke free home !

Here are the specs (bought from ebuyer & scan):

Sonata Media Case ((LxWxH) 345x94x385mm))
ABIT A-S78H Motherboard
2-3ft HDMI Cable
2Gb Corsair memory
AMD Dual Core 2.5GHZ Chip
640Gb Samsung HDD
Pioneer DVD-RW Drive (***not working???***)

I built the media center at end of Nov 2007, so is only 6 mths old and has hardly been used. The wife used mainly to watch mamma mia over and over again!!

I am not sure what happended the dvd drive, but I reckon the kids might have been at it. That said, it works perfect and is very, very quiet indeed. Have taken a few photos of it in action and is running my version of Vista, which of course I will have to delete before I sell - so you will have to buy/download an OS.

The whole thing cost me £290 to build but I am willing to sell for £200. That's a good deal.

I live in Northern Ireland and would prefer pick-up only - but we will see how the thread pans out.

Heading out for a game of football so will deal wtih questions later

Payment by Paypal only
Pick-up preferred

Oops :D

How much would delivery be? Interested but live in London....
LOL. Mis-typed. Was definitely built late Nov 2008, and is 6 mths old - I have all the receipts.
Postage...not sure...I would guess £10ish for parcel force.
I could check out and get back to confirm, but won't be till tomorrow night.
I have left the DVD player in the MC...it was working when I built it but refuses to work now, though the light does come on.
Everything else works though.
Getting back about postage costs.
The media center weighs about 17Kg.
Checked with DHL and they charge £14.95 for pick up and delivery.
Over to you ;-)
Going to bump this up.
Anyone wanting to buy a media center/pc desktop with hdmi output?
When you say capable of playing Blu-ray, this would be from a rip then as it doesn't have a BR drive?

Also, does it have wireless at all?

Also, if you use Parcel2go then should only be around £8 for courier delivery which is also DHL!
Does this really weigh 17kg? That's really heavy for a little box like that!

Do you have any pics at all mate? Also, how does Vista hold up for the purpose? Be first time having a media centre for me and not sure which would be better, Vista or XP MCE. Not going to use it as a PC at all, just as media centre.
BobDylan is right. It plays Blu-Ray from legit rips..it doesn't have have a BR drive but you can pick them up for about £50. It doesn't have wireless as it was beside my router so I never needed it. Again, easy enough to add as there are spare pci ports, etc. I was going to 'build up' the media center over time but never got round to it.

Double-checked - it weighs 16lbs on the wife's scales - it is heavy but quiet (and powerful)
Vista runs very smoorth and very fast - no probs there at all. Windows Media Player was the same too. Ever tried XBMC for Vista/XP - a nice free interface which is improved weekly.

I uploaded 3 pics already to Imageshack - click here to view. Do you want more, if so - close up of front?

Marcjones86: Not giving you a sales pitch here but tt is perfect for a 1st time media center - will save you the hassle of building one. It is so upgradeable and very quiet. It's never used and that's the reason for selling it - I just don't have the time I thought I would have but with 2 kids you never get a minute...LOL
Quite tempted, I'm choosing between this and the Western Digital HD TV Media Player thing with an external HDD.

So there's a HDMI port on the motherboard? I take it it's an onboard GPU, what is the GPU? Also does it have wifi? If not I guess it's easy enough to stick a PCI card in there? DVD drive isn't a problem as I can just replace that, but normally use the PS3 for DVD's anyway, mainly after being able to play MKV's straight through this to the TV through HDMI.
Also what model is the CPU, e.g. 5200+, etc? Sorry, lots of questions!

Edit - Ok I've googled the mobo and it seems it has the ATI HD3200 GPU which has DirectX10 support, is that right?

What speed is the RAM you have in there?
Hi marcjones,
Mobo has hdmi built in etc. No wifi but easy to add.
The 2gb memory is excellent, PC-2 6400 (800). See link here
Yes, the mobo is Direct X10 compliant, see review here
The system is high spec, I'm not totally au fait with the technology but I built it on recommendations from a computer expert
