Hello,
I have up for sale my Samsung 32Gb Solid State Disk, which came out of my Dell laptop. but have recently had it working in a home theater PC for an ultra quiet setup :) - I used an Addonics ZIF - IDE converter for this - if anybody wants more info on this setup just ask. for laptop use as long as this will fit just unplug your old one, plug this in its place!!

Might be interested. Which dell laptop did it come out of?

What I actually should be asking is what Dell laptops will this be compatible with? I've got a Dell 1747 coming with space for two drives. If I can run OS and software off a smaller faster, quieter drive, I'd like to.

Hi it came from a D430, let me know if you need anything else

See above. i edited while you were posting

back in a bit - diner calls

I will have a look and see if your laptop can take it as is and let you know.

Hi, it does look as if you can do it you would need a ZIF to SATA converter like in http://www.sourcingmap.com/zif-pin-serial-ata-sata-adapter-converter-p-30578.html?currency=GBP the drive would then screw into the adaper and work as a standard sata drive.

Thanks for links, but adding an adaptor might disrupt r/w speeds, not to mention extra costs. Think I'll be better off going for a new sata ssd. Looking around, it appears I can get similar for that price new - like this one (although not sure what r/w speeds are like on that yet.). edit: r/w speeds good on that one and I think I'll probably get it from Scan. GL with your sale

I certainly think you might have been too ambitious when pricing your SSD.
How about £25 (as I will need another £10 to get an adapter)? Apologies for the low price but I have been dealing with SSD's for many years and although yours would have been top-end 2-3 years ago, things have moved a long way since (both price and performance wise).

I was thinking similar to osx, now that I know I can get a 60GB SSD that is on average 3 x faster than yours with 5 years warranty (read speeds 200MB/s, write 110MB/s) for £118.65 delivered here and £113.90 here. It's probably what I will go for so that I can also keep photoshop and a few other programs on the primary drive.

But £25 probably doesn't sound like much to you, so instead I could offer something of more value in trade if you want. I would use it on my 2nd laptop just to cut down on heat, but go for a new SSD with faster RW speeds on the new laptop.

Stick it at the 'bay with a list of compatible netbooks/laptops and I am sure you will get much closer to your asking price.

thanks for your offers, I will bring the price down to £50 and see how it goes

Would you take 45 posted? I could pay with paypal gift, or bank transfer if it helps.
