Hi all,

I'm getting Virgin Media installed on Thursday and have no further need for my Sky+ HD box.

It's in good cosmetic condition and good working order. Obviously I've had to see out my 12 month term with Sky, which ended around May 11th this year- so it's now about 13 months old. Comes boxed with power cable and remote. I don't know what the dealio is with the viewing card, so will have to find out whether I'm allowed to provide that or not.

Erm, not sure what else to add. It's got the updated TV guide, but I guess they all do by now!
Shipping/Payment:
Payment by bank transfer, shipping by courier or local collection as long as you a) don't show up trying to haggle after agreeing a price with me on the phone and b) try showing up and saying you've only got x amount on you, would I mind taking that. Gumtree has put me right off face to face dealing lol :)

Yes, I know I need to have a dust.

Cheers ASB

Sorry, card cannot be included.

The card remains the property of sky subscriber services at all time. This cannot be included as part of the sale.

interested although i have a query. If you can't answer i'll check misc threads as i don't want your thread being bumped unnecessarily! I only have standard free sky, pay once watch forever! Will i need a subscription and a new sky dish to use hd on this? Thanks mate!

My Sky is now cancelled and I am receiving all the Sky FTA channels (which is not necessarily the same thing as Freeview channels, I don't get Virgin1 for starters.) I'm getting BBC HD and Channel 4 HD as far as HD channels go. I think there's some other random HD channel but it's probably rubbish- Luxe HD I think?? Don't quote me on that though.

As far as your setup goes, I believe you can use the same dish but there's two cables going into the back of the box, not one. If you've only got a single feed, then I believe you need something called a LNB. To be honest, misc would definitely be the place to ask as my understanding on this particular subject is loose at best!

EDIT: Oh of course, ITV1 HD now too lol! I would presume Channel 5 HD will be on there when it launches too.

OP,

Sorry, thread locked in error whilst member advised re PM dealing.
#12
A real lack of haggling these days, people just jump straight in with all the low offers! I was actually willing to go down to £55 plus postage but may well just accept a straight £60 delivered if offered :)

I don't know what bump this is tbh lol, but I'll be in until about 5pm and then wont be around to answer any offers/queries until late tonight or tomorrow morning.

Sorry about the 'trading via PM'.

I can go to £47.50 collected when you are available (tonight/tommorow), save you the hassle of posting etc.

Let me know.

No problem, but I'm going out in an hour so it would have to be tomorrow

Bump 2 (I think)

Now reduced to the lowest price I'll accept, which is £50 + postage.

joeb, it's whatever the default HD size for these is. I've not changed it but I'm not sure what it is. I'll get the model number in a bit.

EDIT: I'm afraid the model is an unhelpful 'HDSKY'.

joeb, I'll accept this offer if it still stands as I'd rather just get it out of the door now.

You've agreed a trade but are now not responding to cookiemonster83
Could you arrange collection asap please as this is unfair on cookiemonster83
Thanks

If you will do £45 I can collect tomorrow if the other deal falls through.

I'll be happy to deal with you if I hear nothing from the other guy (and pending mod clarification on how I should proceed), but I'd have to hold the price at £47.50. I didn't really want to go this low anyway but even if I took £45, someone else actually already offered that much. Let me know though if you'd want to go ahead.

EDIT: As advised by andywedge, I will give joeb until tomorrow to contact me and if I've not heard from him by then, we can sort something out.
#24
OK no probs, let me know the situation tomorrow and we can go from there.

Thanks.

joeb It's now passed the 'next day' deadline for your agreed meet and as cookiemonster83 has another potential buyer now they are allowed to withdraw from the agreed sale with you. If members decide not to go ahead or have any other issues its good trading practise to actually take the time to notify the other party rather than waste the sellers time.

You're now asking me to wait until Tuesday or Wednesday, whereas ukdeals is talking about today. They have first dibs now anyway, so I'll come back to you if that deal doesn't go through.

ukdeals, if you are happy with the sale leaving trade feedback ( from both buyer and seller) is part of the finalised trade process and this help builds up your own trade feedback which will benefit your own trade profile, thanks :)
HUKD TRADING FEEDBACK

Please make sure you leave clear and honest trading feedback for any trade you have completed. This helps good traders build a healthy reputation and warns others about the bad ones. Please read details posted here: HUKD FS/FT feedback

If there are any issues with the trade and the condition of the item then these should have been notified on receipt by the buyer to the seller. If there are issues that have developed after a few weeks unfortunately then this is a case for direct communication between the relevant parties and relevant issues should be reflected in final trade feedback. This is a private sale forum and items do not come with guarantees. Reviewing solutions offered to date, the cookiemonster83 seems to be making every effort to resolve this issue.
