Hi guys, due to a recent upgrade to HD, I have a Sky box that I am looking to sell. Basically new as I only aquired it a month ago. Comes complete with Power cable, scart, telephone cable and remote control. Looking for £30 which seems to be the going rate on ebay!
Shipping/Payment:
PayPal preferred but I can come and go.

Not sure if this is possible however, I have sky multiroom at my house with sky + downstairs and extra box in other upstairs bedroom. However I have no telephone input thingy in my room to plug sky in , can i get an extension cable from the other room and get a cable from this box to the other one? Sorry if it was a bit confusing!

If you mean a BT socket, and running an extension to you room (as all multiroom boxes need to be plugged in at all times) then yes you can. However, if you mean an extension from the Satellite feed (that comes from the dish) you can run an extension from that, you'll need an extra feed coming from the dish (which will be possible as you'll have at lease a quad LNB as two feeds to Sky+ downstairs and one to Sky box upstairs).

Either way if you want another multiroom setup it'll cost an extra £10 per month (on top of the £10 you're paying for the first multiroom box).

Bit confused by this all. Yes A BT Socket i think it is. Something which comes out the wall and you plug your tv aerial into it?

For the second box, you do not need to have it connected to a phone line. It is only needed to order box office and use the interactive features. You don't even need the first box connected. Hope that helps.

Sorry, a BT socket is for a telephone line. If you haven't got a sky cable already in your room (or a spare one going into another room) you're going to have to have a new one installed coming from the dish outside.

Yes you do for multiroom. It's part of the Ts and Cs that it must always be connected (to stop people taking out multiroom and then moving the box into their neighbours house) :)

You're supposed to for any Sky box for the first 12 months of a contract, but they very rarely do line checks now (and if they do, they write to you to ask you to reconnect it). You can sign up for a non telephone connected subsription, but have to pay a £25 one-off fee. But for multiroom you have to be connected all the time.

Right so i can just shove it in my room upstairs and it will pick it up from satelite without being plugged in?

£30 but I'll throw the delivery for it too. Its pretty much new, as you can see in the second photo, the protective sticker is still over the front!
#14
Does it not come with a viewing card?
#15
Nope, I need that for my new box. It still acts as a freeview box without the viewing card.
#16
right ok, just to confirm, i dont need to plug this in to recieve satelite signal etc? And i dont need a viewing card to watch freeview channels?
#17
You don't need to plug it into a phone line to receive freeview channels. You do need to connect it to the satelitte though. But you're not charged to view the free channels and do not need a viewing card.

Sorry to jump in again, but you do need a viewing card for the free to view channels (you'll only pick up free to air channels without one), these include Channel 4, Channel 5 and Sky 3..
