Hi, will this work with any standard sky dish & do you need a special setup to record onto the hard drive as I seem to have seen somewhere that you need 2 aerial connections from the sky dish for this to work. Also, with the viewing card, what channels can be received - is it just the free to view channels?

hi there, It will work with the standard sky dish to receive the free to view channels on sky.
http://www.freesat.co.uk/index.php?page=whatson.Main

Unfortunately you do need 2 inputs to record but recording also requires a valid sky+ subscription with sky (£9.99/mth i think)

If your looking to just have access to the free to view freesat channels & have a dish already up with at least 1 cable then you are ok.

will it be easy to set up just for freeview as already have sky + in frontroom?

If recording with the Freesat card is a sub still required with sky ?

Yes it is and also sky are in the process of replacing all the sky viewing cards so that card will become no good soon and will have to be replaced at a cost of £25 for freeview card from sky.

Only difference is that it's the Freeview Channels on the Sky Box but without the Recordings, you can pay Sky £10 to Record any of the channels but it's exactly the same in terms without a subscription needed if you wanted a Sky + Box for the future.

That only applies to watch normal channels and allow the viewing card to access all channels. You will still have to monthly to use sky+ but the pay once is the view the normal free channels like e4,film24,channel 5 etc

I don't mind not being abe to use sky plus, just wondered what the differences in channels were - with the item listed - can you watch freesat only as the sky pay once seems to have more channels
#20
The Freesat is Correct, If you want me to check any channels out to access just let me know.

Hi, If i didn't want to watch a channel and record a different channel at the same time could i use the single cable that is currently connected to my sky box and if i subscribed would i be in a 12 month contract? I'd be really interested in this if you didn't mind waiting for the payment and could confirm the above because i don't want to be stuck in a 12 month contract. Thanks
#22
I'll take it at £30 inc postage if it is still available.

Thanks
