I have for sale my faulty PAL Wii. :(

I bought a replacement case from Ebay the other day and it turned up today. I followed the instructions to the letter and replaced the internals from the old case to the new black case I purchased. Screwed it all back together and plugged it in. It booted fine. I played a few WiiWare games, went on the internet etc all fine. However when I tried to play a disc based game the machine came back with an error.

I have managed to narrow it down to either the drive itself or the data cable. It was working fine just before I embarked on the case replacement so I know its nothing major (as everything else works fine on the machine). I did manage to break the clip holding the data cable to the drive, which means that the connection of the cable is somewhat loose. I tried to glue the cable clip back in place but it didnt work.

The motherboard is fine, the rest of the machine is fine. A data cable is £10 on Ebay, a replacement drive is about £35 on Ebay. This could work out to be a cheap way of getting a Wii if you are prepared to do the fixing, or would be a good way of getting a semi working machine for parts for your own broken Wii.

I am including the following...

WIi console (in a black case) with all internal components. This does turn on and boot to the main Wii screen. WiiWare works fine, as does VC, internet channel, weather channel etc. To confirm, discs do not work at all as per the potential reasons above.
Wii Sports, remote, nunchuck, sensor bar, all cables, all manuals etc.

Paypal or BT accepted.

Will trade for a PSP with custom firmware and memory card.

Had another bas at this today and cleaned all the connectors etc. The Wii recognises the fact that the cable is plugged into the drive and when it isn't so I can assume that the cable is ok. The dvd drive itself is dead it wold seem now, so it will definately need a new drive if not a cable too.

Again, everything else works fine.

Hadleighboy - You have first dibs mate, so Im waiting on you now...
