FS: Sony Bravia KDL 40V3000 1080P HD LCD TV BRAND NEW £575.00

Brand new, unopened box. Unwanted prize.

The competition did promise a KDL40V4000 but these are no longer made. Like the 20-inch 20S4000, the super-high dynamic contrast ratio proved to be too intrusive (screen brightness pumping during titles, etc.) and they're only selling the V3000 models now which don't suffer the same problem. Otherwise, the KDL-40V3000 is identical in every way to the 40V4000.

Cash on collection / delivery only. £575 is the "buy it now" price. If I've no takers, I'll possibly accept a lower offer. First come, first served.

Sony is in the process of raising its UK prices by up to 33% due to the strong Yen and weak Pound. Look for the next TVs to be well over the discounted prices for the current range.

Buy now to avoid a huge price hike!

Although it doesn't actually state that you MUST post an image.

Okay - I'll see what I can do. I assume I have a day or so to sort this out?

Quite what a photo of a TV box is going to do for anyone, I've no idea - but anyway - fair enough.

No but with no feedback offering a £600 telly think it may improve there chances of sale.

Stops time wasters, not labelling you that. But its happened a lot before.
#7
It is usually to prove that you actually have the item before someone sends you any money ,However this is not necessary for cash on collection as they will be able to view the item before paying you,

Where are u for collection???

You are not allowed to provide you email, you must know that as you've sneakily avoided it being filtered out.

You are quite possibly a scammer to all intents and purposes - have you got a ebay account with lots of feedback?
#10
Offers need to be made in the thread and not via email to your hotmail - just a heads up.

My ideas were trader.
#12
I've tried this on gumtree and in my local supermarkets at £600 and over and no takers. I don't think £575 is unreasonable seeing as how you actually can't buy these anymore.

If anyone is interested - let me know. I'm about as genuine as they come - I've a rating of 80 on Ebay including large / high value items with 100% feedback rating - but I won't post my details here.
#13
All offers must be posted here and no dealing via PM / Email allowed.

Email addy removed from OP.

Can you not post your ebay account name, there is no harm in doing so, will be able to check your 100% feedback.
#15
NOT a scammer. Oh well - didn't know about the email rule. Post offers in the thread then...

The first half dozen are brand new and high value !!!

You'd have to put up with screen brightness pumping with a dynamic contrast ratio of 33000 to 1. 13000 to 1 is still way over the top and isn't noticeable.

But then I would know that anyway, as I work for the company that makes them.

TV prize won in an internal Sony competition. I live and work in Basingstoke but have family in the West Midlands. Can't really be a scammer now, can I?

Come on guys give him a break ,He is selling a TV and he has offered cash on collection so unlikely hes trying to rip anyone off ,It is however too expensive and nearer £400 would be more realistic unless it comes with a receipt from a retailer for warranty purposes,

It's better than that. I work in a respected position at SONY in Basingstoke. Warranty / proof of purchase (prize delivery 09/02/09) assured.

Yeah but consider:
http://www.buyatdigitalcentre.co.uk/acatalog/Sony_Panasonic_philips.html#asonyKDL40V3000
at £585.27...id hardly want to save £10 by getting it from yourself...I brought a LG 42" for £380 from richersounds...although not same product, and sony sets are better, but you seriously need to reconsider your price.
#27
If anyone is interested, or wants to make a SENSIBLE offer knowing I work for Sony, have the original delivery note showing a date of 09/02/09 and can will also offer to test the TV upon collection and payment with the person present - let me know. I can come with you to try it in your own home - or I can test it with you at my place in Basingstoke. If it doesn't work - don't pay.

But if you prefer to open the box yourself - just take it away.

LG aren't Sony. Have you seen the quality of their panels?

Look, if you want a BRAVIA with all the latest Bells and Whistles - let me know - otherwise, sorry - I'm looking for SENSIBLE offers. Looking at Ebay, these are still going at close to £600 and I'll try there instead if there are no takers.

I need to go back to work now - some of us have deadlines to meet. Post in the original thread if interested.

But there not as good as panasonic. Sorry you sound like the salesman, and this sounds like a pitch. Have reported as trade. Something just smells not right, for a Sony employee to WIN a top wack Sony product while working there selling them.

Gees this forum is nasty. I'm a loyal employee yes. I can't sell discounted (staff) sales for a profit - only a loss - but I can sell an internal competition prize - no rules against that.

I'd say it's pretty normal for a company to offer its own products as internal prizes - and Sony is large enough to run this size of internal competition.

Sorry you don't believe me. Just missed out on a £600 TV. Remove the thread - Not sure I care anyway - this doesn't sound like a fair forum to me...
#33
And I DON'T work in sales, or marketing, or promotion - or anything else remotely connected with shifting kit or specifically, TVs. Sorry to blow that myth out of the water as well.

The reason why me myself find this hard to believe is your giving a small picture, then refusing to tell us stuff like the ebayID then giving it, then giving us a pitch about the 'amazing Sony TV'. It just sounds like your hiding stuff.
#35
He has offered receipts, proof of delivery ,cash on collection and he offered the chance to see the item working,Why not give him a break and stop being so negative,

Guys, enough said I guess. OP is offering 1 TV on sale and is perfectly OK to do this - doesn’t matter if they work for Sony or not. OP is also offering cash on collection, demonstration and receipts (not sure how a prize have receipt though), proof of delivery etc.
