what lenght is the strap please? and can this be used with resting it on the tummy rather than stapping it on?

It's over 1m and is stretchy.
Would keep to the user instructions that say to strap it on..

It all depends how the baby is lying. If the baby is still and in a good position the results are good.

If the baby is moving around a lot and in an awkward position the results as less good.
